About this event

The goal of the event is to showcase different ways to make a positive change - simple and brilliant, chosen by individuals and organizations.
We expect to have speakers from charity foundations and local initiative groups, volunteers and journalists, social entrepreneurs and TV-stars, finance and CSR experts... The idea is very simple: there are many ways to make local community (city, country, world) a better place using unique talents and expertise each of us has.
TEDxNeskuchnySad is a place to get some inspiration and may be start cross-sector, cross-functional partnerships.

Confirmed Speakers

  • Yury Lifshits
    Yury Lifshits is a web researcher and entrepreneur. He organized the first national Attention Awards for the best educational videos. Now he is a Head of the biggest coworking space in Saint-Petersburg "Zonaspace". He has Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, and he is the author of two dozen scientific publications. develop prototypes and design new algorithms at Yahoo! Research. In the recent past he developed prototypes and designed new algorithms at Yahoo! Research.
  • Larisa Afanasyeva
    Director and artistic coordinator of “Upsala Circus” – the only circus in the world for troubled youth, where orphaned children come to study, as well as children from troubled families.
  • Elena Fortuna
    a mother of three adopted children. Chief editor of the “Rodnie Lyudi” (My dears) magazine, intended for people who are planning to become adoptive or foster parents, as well as those who have adopted children.
  • Nelli Uvarova
    Nelli Uvarova – an actress in the RAMT theatre, as well as a popular TV star in the “Don’t be born pretty” series. Nelli is the creative force behind the “Naivno? Ochen’!”(Naive? Very!) project, which supports people with disabilities through the sales of their handmade goods.
  • Elena Smirnova
    Elena Smirnova – graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physical Education, distinguished world-class athlete in diving, a mother of four children. Elena used to work as a teacher in a special-needs day care. Director of the “Sozidanie” charitable foundation.
  • Evgeniy Gorkaev
    Business consultant, coach. Ideological inspirer of the biggest charity festival in Russia "Heart2Heart Bazaar"
