In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Awoenam Mauna-Woanya

Awoenam Mauna-Woanya is a senior studying civil engineering at Johns Hopkins University. His outlook on his major and career path was forever changed when he first participated in the Community Impact Internships Program (CIIP)(https://www.facebook.com/JHUCIIP/). Now, he will be a program co-coordinator for CIIP and strives to help civil engineers like himself see the humanity in what they do.

Jimmy Pitingolo

Jimmy Pitingolo is a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University. As an active member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and President of the Johns Hopkins Gays in Greek Life, Jimmy wants to share how these two communities have played integral roles in his college experience.

Katemanee Burapachaisri

Katemanee Burapachaisri is a junior at Johns Hopkins University studying neuroscience and psychology. She is an ambassador and writer for One Love Foundation (https://www.joinonelove.org/), where she strives to educate young people about (un)healthy relationships and empower them to identify abuse. She is also a Crisis Text Line Counselor and a peer listener for A Place to Talk (https://www.facebook.com/jhuaptt/).
