On July 13, 2011 up to 150 TED-fans are invited to attend TEDxTheHagueLIVE at Igluu Den Haag. TEDxTheHagueLIVE offers its guests a varied program from 08:30 - 21:00, combining both live performers and an exclusive simulcast from TEDGlobal 2011 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Among the live performers will be critically acclaimed opera singer Eva-Maria Westbroek. TEDxTheHagueLIVE is free of charge but attending is only possible for invited guests.

Eva-Maria Westbroek received rave reviews for her performance as Sieglinde in Richard Wagners’s Die Walkure at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She will present together with her father, geologist Peter Westbroek. Also speaking will be composer/conductor Merlijn Twaalfhoven, artist Martin Sjardijn, urban gardener Rachelle Eerhart and fitness specialist Richard de Ruijter. Also Kathy Voyles, food activist, storyteller and chef will speak about food in addition to preparing lunch for some 200 guests, speakers and volunteers. Kathy will use locally and organically grown food as much as possible, donated by various sponsors. She will be assisted by a team of volunteers who all love to prepare food.

The simulcast from Edinburgh features historian Niall Ferguson, comedian Robin Ince, sand artist Joe Castello underworld investigator Misha Glenny and many more.

Pre-registration for TEDxTheHagueLIVE starts on Friday June 16. Only 150 seats are available, these spots will be divided as fairly as possible. To ensure a diverse audience, policy makers, artists, students, expats and entrepreneurs are especially encouraged to pre-register. This independent TEDx event is operated under license from TED. TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.
