In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Roberto Siagri

Roberto Siagri, after receiving a degree in Physics from the University of Trieste, has spent more than twenty years in the IT sector, with special regard to technology innovation and to the understanding of future trends. As co-founder and President of Eurotech SpA, he is responsible for strategies, new business models and the internationalization of the company. He collaborates with the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Udine, where he has taught courses in Digital Systems Electronics. In addition to his many commitments within the Eurotech Group, he is a member of the Italy-Japan Business Group as well as of the Advisory Board of the University of Padova’s School of Economics. His expertise in topics related to innovation, technological research and entrepreneurship make him a sought-after speaker at conferences in Italy and throughout the world.

Chiara Giovenzana

Chiara graduated in Medical Biotechnology in 2004 at University of Modena after an Erasmus program in Finland in 2002 and a short but intense work experience for an NGO in Zambia in 2003. A full grade cum laude signed the end of 5 years of curiosities gratified and doubts that shakes her scientific certainty . Always looking forward for new solutions and Chiara has been called in 2006 at the Ohio State University as visiting scholar where she works in the Immunology Lab. Back in Italy she obtained her PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the Università degli Studi of Ferrara. “Will I be a scientist?” 2008, Switzerland. Post-doc for the University Hospital of Basel in the Tissue Engineering Labs. She understand that she needs to broad her knowledge. That’s why in 2008 she obtained the scholarship to attend the Fullbright BEST Program for a six months of entrepreneurial life in the Silicon Valley network and courses of Technology Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University to enable herself to associate business know-how to her science background. “Now I can see the same problem from two different angles!”. 2009, Italy. Chiara is elected President of the Fullbright BEST Alumni Association. 2010, California. She is one of the eighty student, among the 1600 applicants, selected to participate at the Singularity University and to spend 10 weeks at the campus of NASA in Mountain View (Silicon Valley). 2009-2010, back to Basel as ‘business woman’ with the purpose of creating a biotech start-up that eventually became reality in February of this year: the Cellec Biotek AG is a biotech company that develop and sell bio reactors for 3D cell culture; Chiara is CEO of the company.
