Theme: The City / Utopias & Realities
Nantes, France
December 15th, 2011
About this event
Demography and sustainable development problematic lead researchers, architects and authorities to think over the city of tomorrow.
They think about this challenge, to know how to reconcile high density and urbanization in the cities with environmental concerns (pollution, waste production, energy consumption, etc) and social concerns (poverty, shanty towns, social housing, etc.), all in a global economy context (the importance to be connected to the world through telecommunication and transport infrastructures).
What will be the cities of the future: environmental, global, or digitized?
Today, how to make progress, what innovations lead, what new ways to develop a territory and improve the quality of our lives?
