The fundamental cornerstone of human connection is communication. We define and express ourselves using much more than language. The interactions and symbols that communicate who we are, what we know and how we feel evolve. Communication is More Than Words. It is semiotic, mediums, translation, expression, sharing, theory, interpretation, technology, culture and so much more.
More Than Words is a reflection of how fluid and evolving ideas in communication are creating a tidal wave resonating through our social and business interactions. We are creating a dynamic program of speakers from the local Humber community - faculty, alumni and students - whose passionate ideas, innovative projects and compelling stories reflect emerging concepts in communication.
TEDxHumberCollege is about sharing ideas and having new conversations using More Than Words. Abiding by the TEDx mission, TEDxHumberCollege will foster learning and create a community of shared knowledge. The event will be multidisciplinary, and will reflect the diverse community and educational programming at Humber. It will capture the enthusiasm, passion and expertise of the Humber community.
