In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Tharaka Gunarathne

Tharaka Gunarathne is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen Medical School and a Consultant Psychiatrist working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. With his background in Psychiatry and Medical Education, Dr. Tharaka has taken his talent into the motivational speaking world to motivate and inspire others to step into the fullness of all they can be. Dr. Tharaka debuted at TEDx UniversityOfAberdeen with "The Power Of Shifting The Way You think" (https://youtu.be/u-Cg7OTShLU). Since then, Dr. Tharaka has been invited by various business and organisations to speak at events and help audiences think more effectively to maximise their performance. Dr. Tharaka believes that there is treasure in you and discovering that for yourself can be life changing!

Ehsan Ghavimi

Ehsan Ghavimi, an improv theatre performer and coach, has improvised at key moments in his life. This is his story, from birth to the present day, and what he has learned along the way. As a coach, Ehsan Ghavimi helps people develop their communication skills. Before discovering improvisation, he felt like he had something to say but didn't know how to say it. Improvisation helped him find his voice. Today, he helps other people find their voice.

Lecticia Lecticia Sepulveda Munguambe

Leticia Sepulveda Munguambe is originally from Mozambique and has finished her degree with First Class Honours in International Business Management. Currently, she is a master student doing Petroleum Energy Economics and Finance at University of Aberdeen. Other than being an academic she is also a travel enthusiast and a firm believer of equality for all. Because of this, she owns an e-commerce firm, "LaFamba" aimed at helping Mozambicans travel the world and most importantly, help connect individuals to beautiful Mozambique.

Luis Enrique Loria

Luis Enrique Loría is an Environmental Economics Researcher, originally from Costa Rica. His main passion is green technology. He has spent the last few years researching ways to introduce more low emission public transport, using the Aberdeen Hydrogen Bus Project as a case study. Thus Luis has developed a -what some of his friends describe as peculiar - fondness for buses.

Paulina Dzianach

Paulina Dzianach is a first year student of PhD in Public Health, led by the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and Curtin University in Australia. Her areas of expertise is Mathematics and Physics, but her main interest is to include applying mathematical reasoning in the field of Biology.

Robert James Rosemin Culligan

Robert James Rosemin Culligan is an Irish-Caribbean writer and an International Relations student at the University of Aberdeen. He runs Aberdeen based media organisation called Moist Magazine. Even though he likes to write about a wealth of issues, a large amount of his work is focused on the Aberdeen student community.
