Andrew Riad

Student at DAA
Andrew Riad, a drama driven, poetry loving, music lover stresses to his audience how a man's hobbies, interests, attire, and so on do not justify his 'manliness'. Andrew challenges the notion of masculinity, and addresses social pressures for men specific to his Middle Eastern background.

Felipe Cuellar

Student at DAA
Felipe is interested in space, and through his talk, explores the opportunities, challenges, and questions brought up by the possibility of putting solar panels in space. He wonders if this could lead to cheap energy for everyone, or if its effects are more menacing.

Gnebe Diouf

Poet
Gnebe Awa Diouf is a returning DAA student who will perform two original spoken word pieces. The first one is about the change that needs to happen to create a better society and the second is about the face and struggle of immigration.

Student at DAA
In a world where human value is diminishing, there is a greater need for adoption than there has ever been before. Mahika breaks misconceptions associated with adoption to encourage others to think of adoption as more than the last resort.

Meghna Banerjee

Student at DAA
As an Indian woman, Meghna has personally been victim to the pressures of maintaining a lighter skin color. Whether it was by avoiding the outdoors or plastering on skin whitening creams, the prevalence of colorism incited her to explore the dominance of fair skin, and to consider its colonial and racist background.

Natalia Hara

Student at DAA
Many of us have been faced with certain tasks that we don't enjoy taking part in. This talk explores the methods through which you can learn to love whatever you are faced with, and how doing so may lead you to discover hidden potentials within your endeavor.

Yara Mersi

Student at DAA
In light of fad diets, fit teas, and calorie counting, Yara became vexed at society's approach to food. She shares her ideas on the importance of food and its influence on the food industry, and how the global perception of nutrition has distorted into an unhealthy obsession.

Yasmin Nazer

Student at DAA
Yasmin uses her personal experiences to explore the effect of having a stroke at a young age. She shares her own path to recovery, hoping to encourage others to create a positive outlook on life, despite such adversity.
