In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anastazija Zajec

Anastazija is an 18 year old student currently in her first year of the IB Diploma programme in Gimnazija Bežigrad Ljubljana and she hopes to study science in the future. She is volunteering at Greenpeace Slovenia.

Celine Lau

Celine is an 18-year-old student from Hong Kong, currently studying in Italy at the United World College of the Adriatic, where students from all over the world gather together to be educated under the same roof. Having grown up in the cosmopolitan city Hong Kong, Celine has experienced more than a decade of the so-called "Asian" style educational model, which mostly puts focus on students' ability to memorize facts and drill solutions as fast as possible. Upon arriving in Italy, she has found herself realizing that education is no longer just a pen and a piece of paper, instead it should be a natural, enjoyable and autonomous pursuit in life.

Dominique Biondi Morra

Student at UWC Adriatic
Dominique is currently a 17 year old first year student at United World College of the Adriatic. Ever since she was eight years old, she knew she had a passion for diverse cultures and going out of her comfort zone. Growing up in Costa Rica with an Italian father who was raised in Egypt and French mother who spent most of her life in Mexico and Nicaragua, allowed her to see the world and many of its cultures from a very young age. Teaching young children in some of the poorest neighborhoods of Costa Rica along with organizing and fundraising for food drives for the homeless in San José gave her a look into the psychology of both young and old people from different backgrounds. From playing football, to dancing jazz, practicing taekwondo and acrobatics Dominique has always loved to try anything and everything new.

Nada Ladraa

Nada is a 17-year old first-year student of the United World College of the Adriatic. Co-founder of the web platform UnitedYouthJournalists.
