Technology is at its pinnacle in society and is evolving and expanding into places that we could have never once imagined. This has especially been evident at Brooklyn Tech, where students are exposed on a daily basis to groundbreaking innovations. The world’s future is at stake and it is our generation’s moment to make contributions to the benefit of mankind. In order to better ensure a sustainable future, this TEDx event will educate the Brooklyn Tech community on how social media can be used for the better of the world.

Alexandra Shen

Student
Alexandra Shen, an idiosyncratic girl living in the midst of Brooklyn attends Brooklyn Technical High School as a Mathematics Major, and aspires to double major in mathematics and drama in college. She is a swimmer for thirteen years and counting, and she believes that this sport enables her to embrace her ADHD and turn that energy into a form of sportsmanship and positive competition. With encouragement from friends and teachers, she became the President of the RACECAR Club at Tech, a club she created after participating in MIT’s pilot Beaver Works Summer Program in the summer of 2016 where she experienced four intense weeks of understanding the mechanics of autonomous vehicles with the use of her skills in the coding language, Python, and higher level mathematics. As a lover of mathematics and the ambiguous questions in life, she hopes to share her interests with not only her peers, but also the wider demographic outside of her school.

Dylan Gambardella

Co-Founder of Next Gen Summit | Investor | Student | Athlete.
Dylan was born and raised in Westchester, New York. Before graduating as the valedictorian of Hendrick Hudson High School, Dylan co-founded Students4Students, a college advisory firm that has helped over 70 students across three continents gain admission to their dream schools. Dylan chose to continue his education at Duke University, where he currently studies Public Policy, Economics, Philosophy, and Entrepreneurship, and is a Melissa & Doug Scholar. Dylan’s current project, the Next Gen Summit, is the premier community and conference for young entrepreneurs. Next Gen aims to equip young entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed including mentorship, inspiration, and capital. Dylan and his companies have been featured in major publications like Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Inc. and more.He is also an accomplished speaker, having been invited to address crowds at Yale, Duke, and UCLA. During his free time, Dylan enjoys reading, playing basketball and training for triathlons

Fahad Rajput

Healthcare Management | Real Estate.
Fahad Rajput is a multifaceted millennial with vast experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and real estate. He has studied pharmacology at Stony Brook University, accounting at Queens College, and business fundamentals at Harvard Business School. As a second grader who found enjoyment in selling cookies and candy, his future path in business was expected. His diverse background also includes managing a multi-million dollar investment fund, consulting in a critical budget deficit for a large medical practice, and being Research Coordinator of Invasive Cardiology. Now at the age of 22, he is the Chairman of a real estate investment firm, and the CEO of a medical consulting company. Being that these companies were built from nothing but ambition, Fahad now shares his professional growing pains with aspiring entrepreneurs and is looking to create a group where networking and ideas can flourish.

Helal Chowdhury

Student
Helal Chowdhury is a senior at Brooklyn Technical High School, in the Biological Sciences major and aspires to pursue Biomedical Engineering in College. Being born in Bangladesh, and living in Britain before settling in the United States, he traveled to a plethora of countries. As the President of the Muslim Student Association, and a Chairperson of the National Honors Society, he is involved in myriad clubs.

Husna Ellis

Student
Husna is a senior at Brooklyn Tech in the Gateway to Medicine major. She has a passion for the sciences and international affairs. She wishes to commit humanitarian aid work through a STEM career in engineering or medicine. She is wholeheartedly involved in the many aspects of the Tech community having founded the World’s Dialogues club freshman year to encourage conversation and action on present day issues to being CoPresident of the National Honor Society and being a year-round athlete and CoCaptain of championship teams, to name a few. She attributes her love for the world to her family, saying they instilled a passion for being involved. Through attending astronomy nights at Columbia University and lectures at MoMath to visiting Met exhibits, her affinity for exploration was born.

Marc Williams

Professional Speaker | Communications Coach
Marc Williams is a high-powered, energetic motivational speaker, leadership development trainer, and executive speech coach. With various degrees and almost 20 years of experience in education, communication, and administration, Marc provides the motivation and strategies audiences can use to become powerful leaders and dynamic communicators. Marc is a Brooklyn Tech alum, and a former Assistant Principal of English at Brooklyn Tech. Currently, he is the Principal at the Secondary School for Journalism. As one of the nine finalists in the 2014 Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking, Marc delivers talks on presentation/communication skills, leadership development, and self-empowerment at leadership conferences, educational institutions, and corporate events. As the author of Beyond Limitations: From a Boy Without Promise to the Man I Am Today, Marc’s mission is to inspire and share with others how to turn their challenges into their victories.

Mohammed Hasan

Psychotherapist | Personal Development Coach | Leadership Psychology Consultant
Hasan focuses on synergizing the best of what Self-Help Industry has to offer, Practical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, Principles from traditional Islamic Teachings and cutting-edge Tools and Techniques from Personal Leadership Psychology. Hasan holds a Graduate Degree in Counseling. He has held several leadership roles including the MSA President of NYIT and Director for Youth and Family Programs at JMC. He is a Clinical Therapist at the Bleuler Psychotherapy Center where he provides treatments to individuals, families and groups. As the founder and the personal development coach at Hasan Coaching, Hasan works remotely and in-person with adults and young professionals on personal, familial, and professional balance and growth. Hasan also provides consultations to nonprofits and businesses. Hasan is an Instructor for Oaktree Institute teaching leadership workshops on communication, habit, emotional mastery, and other personal development and leadership skills.

He has spent over 20 years living and working in 4 continents and so is considered an authority in communicating effectively across cultures.
