In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Asad Malik

founder, 1RIC
Asad J. Malik is the creator at 1RIC. He is a designer and digital artist who experiments with the most cutting edge of technology to produce his work. Asad received international recognition last year for creating a series of abstract art by scanning his own brain. He’s currently working with the Hololens on developing the next generation of apps and experiences for a holographic future. He has worked out of over 15 countries since he was 16 and is currently based in Vermont USA. Let together be the face of tomorrow with Asad!

Hamza Tariq

founder, Quotart
Hamza Tariq , 16 years old self taught digital artist. He has won Google and Behance awards and worked with designers from Oxford and MIT. Hamza started exploring design and illustration when he was just 12. He started off manipulating simple images and progressed to make more on his own. Working from home, he created HTS (Hamza Tariq Studio). In 2013, he started a Facebook page Quotart revolving around typographic inspirational pieces. In 2014, he also won the Google Doodle contest for Eid celebrations.

Maheen Zakaria

founder, Raahat
Maheen Zakaria is the founder of Raahat, which was one of the 100 Davis Projects for Peace for 2016. The project aims to spread awareness about the issue of domestic violence, and hopes to bridge the gap between victims of abuse and the resources available to them. Maheen serves an inspiration for today’s youth because of her extraordinary dedication to social work. She is currently a Chemistry major at Yale University and plans to pursue medicine in the future.

Mona Mahtani

Receiver of the Commonwealth Youth Award 2016 for her significant contribution to social inclusion, Mona Mahtani had founded Dewan Farm School in her village, a primary school targeting poor and minority families. With her selfless services and unwavering resolution, she has set a benchmark for our youth to follow.

Mw Waqas

CEO and Co-founder, Wonder Tree
How a child’s hand-eye coordination platform can help special children. Listen to Waqas while he presents a digital-age aid for children suffering from ADHD, dyslexia, autism and similar challenges. Mw Waqas is CEO and co-founder of an interactive gaming platform for special children. His inspirational journey started with close friends and an undergrad project made Pakistan proud with a product turned start up called WonderTree. It stood third at the Global Innovation through Science and Technology initiative (GIST) competition.

Nargis Latif

Founder, Gul Bahao
Gul Bahao has been putting up prefabricated structures called Chandi Ghar for the last several years with the aim to develop solutions to Environmental problems. Gul Bahao​ was launched by madam Narghis Latif. It has received international recognition for its work on Environmental Research in Pakistan. Along with its research activities, it has also provided practical solutions for low cost housing, water sanitation and garbage disposal.

Sadaffe Abid

Sadaffe Abid is the co-founder of CIRCLE, a women's leadership development initiative that develops the capacity of women to exercise leadership in new and courageous ways. She has worked on leadership development programs with the US based Atlantic Council, six Fortune 500 companies. She is a global speaker on women’s leadership, innovation and social entrepreneurship at TEDx INSEAD, Harvard Social Enterprise Conference, UN Women amongst others.
