A few weeks ago we put our focus on TEDxWomen and together with over 200 attendees, not only did we watch the livestreamed TEDWomen conference, but we also got the chance to listen to what 3 amazing speakers had to say on TEDxKrakowWomen stage. To keep it balanced, we dedicated November to the theme of masculinity. Isn’t this the right time to talk about manhood?

The X chromosome X and the Y chromosome - the very reasons why half of us are born biological men. What does it really mean to be a man? How is our perception of masculinity changing? Are we facing a crisis of masculinity? We’ll sought the answers with the help of our fantastic speaker Bogdan de Barbaro, and by watching TED talks specially selected by our team.

Bogdan de Barbaro

Psychiatrist and psychotherapist
Bogdan de Barbaro is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who works and lectures at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He's particularly interested in postpsychiatry, a new perspective on psychiatry that places more emphasis on the social and cultural contexts, and the treatment of families where schizophrenia is an issue. At TEDxKrakówSalon XY he'll be looking at an issue that affects everyone, namely the crisis in masculinity and the challenge faced by men in the 21st century.
