In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andrea Newberry

Andrea Newberry is a stay-at-home mom turned self taught fashion entrepreneur and founder of Leche Libre, an edgy brand of urban apparel which empowers women to confidently breastfeed in public. Her work is inspired by her dedication to make moms lives easier and fueled by her rebellious punk rock aesthetic.

Beverlye Hyman-Fead

She’s an 82 year old author, documentarian, photographer and speaker who was given two months to live. She opted for experimental treatment and has lived, with her cancer for 14 years. She’s bringing every woman in the audience to their feet to proclaim the honor of aging well and aging in high heels, no less!

Brandi Veil

Brandi is an educator, speaker and midbrain worker using energetics, Integrative NLP practice, and Reiki as a way to shift the patterns of the brain. Brandi founded Millionaire Brian Yoga, blend of mindfulness, Yogi philosophy, and experiential edutainment to transform the lives of its participants.

Dune Ives

Dune is Executive Director Lonely Whale Foundation. Through the lens of the world’s loneliest whale, the Foundation is a collaborative philanthropy that inspires empathy and community building for the worlds ocean and marine animals. Dune and her team cultivate a global, connected audience inspired to work together to take effective action. As the former head of Paul Allen's Vulcan Philanthropy, Dune designed and oversaw change-making initiatives that address key drivers of environmental degradation and species decline.

Eileen Shields-West

Eileen has served as a correspondent of TIME and has reported for CBS, CNN and NPR. She has written a book on political campaigns called "The World Almanac of Political Campaigns" (1992), and edited and contributed to "Choosing the Right Educational Path for Your Child" (2008), a book on 21st century schools. She is currently chair of Refugees International, a leading non-profit organization that advocates for refugees and the internally displaced, traveling to such places as Darfur, South Sudan, Rwanda, the Congo, Thailand and Cambodia to advocate on refugee issues.

Ellen Agler

Ellen Agler is the CEO of the END Fund, a private philanthropic initiative focused on combatting neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) that affect over 1.6 billion people. Since launching in 2012, it supports treatment for 85 million people in 22 countries and advocates for NTD control as a global health priority.

Logan Alexander

Logan’s photographic creativity has earned the respect and admiration of professional peers and well-known entertainment industry clients for decades. He’s an accomplished visionary including being an actor on stage, television and screen. He’s currently developing a show highlighting a racially diverse group of urbanites living together as a family in the same building, looking out for each other, as humans should.

Mia Theodoratus

Mia has a MFA from California Institute of the Arts, teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and the Irish Arts Center. Concerts include an invitation from President Obama, LifeBalll /Vienna, CBGBs, fashion shows for Hermes, Vanity Fair and Shang-hai Tang. She composed for numerous recordings and HBO, Bravo and AMC networks and she has a very special message for women, alongside of her harp. She wants to know, are you willing to take risks for rewards?

Sean O'Neal

I want to reconnect people to nature; inspire them to become passionate about plants, flowers, mountains and deserts, the ocean and the clouds in the sky. This can transform our lives. That’s the message I want to spread.My photography reflects the truth of what I see in each photograph’s moment. None of my photos are edited. Everything is unfiltered to the eye. The shift here is that, as humans, we too, can be free from filters. My goal is to capture the true essence of nature and to show the beauty of the world in the most authentic way possible.

Skye Dyer

Skye loves to sing. Music has always been a refuge for her. It's her favorite form of expression. She's spent most of her adult life touring with her dad, Dr. Wayne Dyer, performing at his events. His passing in 2015 changed her forever, and began a new chapter in Skye's life. She is still discovering herself, and she hopes that you will share in this journey with her.

Suryabala Shenbagamurthy

Suryabala is a digital advertising professional with an authentic love for the field. She works at a digital agency in midtown and prior to was with Goldman Sachs, and the United Nations. Her accolades had her participate in Google's 2015 Online Marketing Challenge and she was featured in the Hindu, one of India's most influential media outlets. Surya holds a master's degree in PR and corporate communications from NYU, and is bringing you an incredible talk to make you laugh a little about social media.
