In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anuj Gupta

Gupta is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 2003), the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government (M.G.A., 2003) and Carnegie Mellon University (B.S., 1996). He currently serves on the board for the Philadelphia Historical Commission, Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians and West Mt. Airy Neighbors, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Chestnut Hill Hospital. In 2010, he was selected as one of Philadelphia Business Journal’s “40 under 40” and was a regional finalist for the 2010 Class of White House Fellows. Gupta also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government. Born in Freehold, New Jersey, Gupta currently resides in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia.

CJ Casciotta

CJ Casciotta is a writer, creative director, and champion of weirdos, misfits, and make believers. He’s interviewed a bunch of them on his podcast series, Sounds Like A Movement - folks like Seth Godin, Tony Hale, Shauna Niequist, Switchfoot’s Jon Foreman, and On Being’s Krista Tippett. CJ’s been writing, directing, and producing creative content for brands, churches, and movements for over a decade. He’s given talks at TEDx, Story Conference, Yellow, Socality, and places like Saddleback and Charity Water. His work and ideas have been featured in places like Times Square, RELEVANT Magazine, Q, and MTV. He’s on a mission to help people discover and celebrate what makes them weird in a shallow sea of same.

Elaine Evans

Elaine works on research related to wild bee diversity and bee conservation. She is working to increase awareness of wild bee habitat needs and instill action to create effective pollinator habitat.

Elena Matsui

As a member of the Strategy and Strategic Planning team, Ms. Matsui supports the Rockefeller Foundation’s teams in developing new programmatic initiatives and with strategic planning, risk mitigation, and impact assessment for initiatives currently in execution. Ms. Matsui holds a B.A. from Harvard University in Visual and Environmental Studies and a Masters of International Affairs in economic development and international conflict resolution from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.

Emily Wangen

Emily J. Wangen, MT-BC/L is owner of Music Therapy in Motion, LLC which works with over 1,500 individuals weekly in the Grand Forks, North Dakota region. Music Therapy is a quality health care profession that is a necessary form of treatment for many individuals.

Prem Thakker

Being a high school senior doesn't mean you can't impact others. Prem is a large proponent of this idea. Along with living the life of an everyday teenager, consumed by academics, activities and athletics, Prem is actively involved in student and community leadership. Prem is extremely passionate about politics and economics and he aims to utilize his passions and experiences to positively impact society.

Princess Titus

Princess is the Director of Education and Training at AFC and has an Early Childhood Teaching License. Her vision is for the community to be a safe place that promotes healing, thinking, and healthy living. This Chicago native has dedicated twenty years of her life to making North Minneapolis a better place. As a teacher Princess worked with families and children to build healthy foundations for lifelong learning. As a HIV Educator and Licensed Employment Counselor at the Minneapolis Urban League, she worked with teens and adults, meeting people where they are, and modeling skills necessary for success.
