Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC), in conjunction with the Fulton Montgomery Young Professionals Network (FMYPN) of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted TEDxFMCC 2017 on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 6pm at Raiders Cove on the FMCC Campus,in Johnstown, NY. This event was the Fulton Montgomery, NY region’s inaugural TEDx event and featured talks on Innovation in Education, Healthcare and Community Development.

Irina Gelman

Director of Public Health for Fulton County, NY
With her preliminary medical background in surgery and clinical care, Dr. Gelman completed a Masters Degree in Public Health at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Gelman was appointed the Director of Public Health for Fulton County, NY in January of 2014. Currently a PhD candidate, Dr. Gelman is working on her dissertation entitled “Telehealth initiatives in rural areas.” Her focus on improving access to care, thereby directly impacting population health, culminated in a pilot project geared towards a larger countywide telehealth initiative in Fulton County, NY.

Mike Dardaris

Principal and Chief Learning Officer of HFM-BOCES PTECH
Mike Dardaris spent five years as middle school principal in Marcellus and three years as assistant middle school principal at Jamesville-DeWitt. His first love, however,was music education. Before moving into administration, Mike spent a decade as the director of instrumental music in the Fabius-Pompey Central School District. Mr. Dardaris earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and his master’s degree in education from LeMoyne College. He received his Certificate of Advanced Study from SUNY Cortland.

Ronald Marsh

Physician
Born in Amsterdam, NY attended local public schools. A graduate of Siena college in 1986, Georgetown University school of medicine 1986 and surgical residency in 1991. Dr. Ron Marsh been in practice over 25 years and started the robotics program in August of 2014, successfully completing ~400 cases.

Vincent DeSantis

"Born and raised in Gloversville, NY, I have a BA in Political Science and Education (C.W. Post College) and a Juris Doctor (St. John’s University School of Law). I served in the US Army in Europe in the early 1970s earning an honorable discharge. I practiced law in Gloversville, NY from 1978 and was an Assistant District Attorney for 8 years from1981 - 1989. I then served as Gloversville City Judge for 19 + years from 1993 to 2011 and have been involved in numerous community improvement initiatives. I authored a book in 2007: “Toward Civic Integrity — Reestablishing the Micropolis."
