By letting children talk, we get to know a new vision of tomorrow, once they are the guardians of our future. But what secrets do they keep unrevealed? TEDxkids@PortoSeguroSchool will bring proposals based on the experiences, views and dreams of how simple actions can transform our present into a more sustainable future. Aiming for better global consciousness, our children will make their ideas clear on creative economy, life in elderly age, environment, politics, respect towards diversity, education and other topics related to the development of citizenship.

Arthur Arantes do Nascimento Spies

Student
Arthur is in the 4th grade at Porto Seguro School and enjoys reading and playing with his friends. Video gaming, biking and skating make him very happy. But he’s got a special taste for football (soccer). He does believe that harmony and respect are essential among people, no matter how often or how well it is played. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Arhur will talk about the conflicts and quarrels between different football supporters and the concept of sport as the one that affords joy and fraternization.

Arthur Melo Cambeiro

Arthur is in the 4th grade at Porto Seguro School. Being a friendly boy, Arthur likes to be with his family and play with his dog, Fred. As he worries a lot about people and does not tolerate injustice, he found a way of contributing to the world by explaining how harmful any war can be to the planet. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Arthur’s speech is on the Syrian war, showing that the understanding of the war causes can help diminish the chances of new conflicts.

Augusto Teixeira Braúna Pinheiro

Student
Augusto is a 5th grader at Visconde de Porto Seguro School. He is calm, cheerful, responsible and a real fellow. He likes to play soccer and frisbee, fight judo, play outdoors and travel. He prefers roller coasters, ball games, tag and hide and seek to video games. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Augusto will talk about the risk of bee extinction in the future, once the end of pollination would threaten the production of grains and fruit.

Bianca Marques

Bianca is a ten-year-old girl. She is cheerful, at student Porto Seguro School and likes to read adventure books. She loves playing traditional children games such as hide and seek and rope jumping. As she is very sweet and sensitive. She’s always defending and helping people. She also avoids disappointing them. Worried about the future of the Earth, Bianca believes that small attitudes can bring positive results. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Bianca will talk about the excess of waste produced in the world and will defend the idea that little actions can generate great transformations.

Since Bruno was a little boy he has always enjoyed talking to people, exchanging ideas and experiences. He is currently a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Bruno will talk about how addicted to mobile phones people have become and their impact on the new generation.

Carolina is a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School, where she enjoys having fun with her mates. Her favorite activities are gymnastics and dance. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Carolina will talk about the importance of the use of renewable sources of energy as a way to preserve the Earth.

Enzo is a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School and is proud of his high grades. He’s a light-hearted boy and prefers hot weather to cold one. Going out is not what he likes best. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Enzo will defend not only the idea of consumerism as a major social issue but also the fact that the earlier people learn how to consume consciously, the better.

Felipe Silva Coutinho

Felipe is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. Learning is his great passion and he already shows to be a great defender of the environment. Extremely committed, Felipe wishes we lived in a more ethical and better world. Having this in mind, by sharing his ideas he expects to touch people in such a way that they can help transform the world we live in. He is very skilled as a drummer. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Felipe will talk about endangered plants in Brazil, highlighting the importance of each species for the balance of the ecosystem.

Fernando Pereira Barreto da Silva

Student
Fernando is delighted with virtual games. A student at Porto Seguro School, he wants to be a gamer. He is deeply interested in technological themes as well as ones related to aliens, who are commonly present is the books he likes to read. He feels grateful to the Earth for what it can offer us. But he is deeply concerned about the scarcity of water we may face in the near future, causing a negative effect in many people’s lives, mainly the ones who have not even been born. In order to face this issue, Fernando decided to deepen his studies and share his ideas. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Fernando will talk about the shortage of potable water in some countries and what can be done in order to revert it to an ideal situation.

Gabriel Dacauaziliquá Sartoris

Gabriel is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. Besides being loved by his schoolmates, Gabriel outstands as one who is always interested in acquiring new knowledge. He likes to participate in his classes, when he is able to show his ideas and knowledge. His logical thinking is highly developed. Thus, his favorite school subject is Mathematics. Despite being only nine years old, Gabriel already is a YouTuber. At Youtube he loves talking about his favorite games. In his spare time he is a drawing animator. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Gabriel will explain that if we reduce gas emission, we will also reduce global warming and therefore fauna and flora will be preserved.

Gabriela Niziotek Meves

Student
Gabriela is nine years old, pretty energetic. Besides taking up horse riding and theatre classes, she also plays the piano. Traveling is a way for her to get to know new places and learn from them. A student at Porto Seguro School, she makes friends easily and loves to talk with people. Biking is also a practice for Gabriela, who has a pet dog called Meg. Together they play tricks. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Gabriela will talk about Eco Bike, a bicycle which generates electric and clean energy.

Giovanna Tolomei Bergamo

Giovanna is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. She is not only diligent, but also friendly and talkative. She loves talking about different subjects with kids of her age and adults as well. In her free time she goes to malls and watches TV. She likes to travel with her family and eat biscuits. The main reason for going to school in the afternoon is that she does not like to wake up early. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Giovanna will suggest some attitudes people can have in order to reduce the effects caused by global warming.

Gustavo Curi Hilsenrath

Gustavo is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. He is very affectionate and that is why everybody likes him. Besides being studious and curious, Gustavo likes to share his knowledge with his mates and teachers. His favorite school subjects are Math, Digital Language and Physical Education. English is also a pleasant subject for him. He likes to watch TV and cartoons. Eating is something he really appreciates and apple the fruit he likes best.At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Gustavo will prove that in a simple way we can help reforest the planet and transform the world into a cleaner and healthier place.

Helena Andréa Constantini

A student at Porto Seguro School, Helena loves to be in contact with nature. Always questioning our attitudes as human beings, she early concluded that we have the power to preserve our land if we consider ourselves as part of it. As she likes narratives and biographies, she also found out that human beings have the power to change their history once they want to. She recognizes that new technology is a powerful tool for such purpose and should be shared so that the world can be changed for the better. But this will only be done satisfactorily if we are really willing to and understand that the change must start from us. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Helena will defend the idea that human relations must be prioritized, no matter how impacted they are by technology.

Henrique is a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School. He likes to play with his friends and tell them his secrets. He loves making presentations like the ones TEDx has. He dislikes arguing with his friends. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Henrique will highlight the importance of using water consciously once it is an essential natural resource to life.

Isabel was born on May 19th and is currently a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School. Her favorite school subject is Portuguese. Writing, reading and discovering the beauty of our world fascinate Isabel, who enjoys spending her spare time with her parents and brother, Vitor. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Isabel will show us that when one has a global understanding about the world, one can have a better living standard.

Isabella Audi

Isabella is a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School. She is ten years old, extremely polite, intelligent and caring. She loves reading and her favorite types of books are adventure and strip cartoon ones. Besides reading, she also likes to bike and play with her seven-year-old sister. She appreciates Italian and Japanese food. She likes dogs as well and Pokemon Go! is her favorite application. Considering people’s welfare and the importance of a balanced environment, Isabella gives special attention to the recycling issue, which is quite often discussed but not so frequently put into practice. “We must diminish the quantity of produced waste by reusing materials whenever possible.”- said Isabella when discussing such issue in a serious and conscious way. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Isabella will talk about being conscious when recycling and the importance of minimizing the use of discarded materials.

João Monteiro Murta

Student
João is nine years old, very responsible and studious. He loves lecturing and teaching what he knows. He also believes that in his life he should make people conscious about the need of making our planet a better place for living. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, João will defend the idea that local actions can interfere in global processes such as weather changes and social relations.

Julia Facó de Sá

Student
Julia is a student at Porto Seguro School. Being curious and sensitive, she loves reading and learning new and interesting things. Her favorite subject is Science, through which she can develop experiments and study the environment. She loves playing with her friends and on the weekends she gets together with her relatives to watch a good movie and play with her brother. Getting to know new places and different cultures with her family members is a pleasure for her. As Julia is a very sensitive student, her biggest concern has to do with World Peace and how to integrate different peoples. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Julia will defend the concept of a world without frontiers and the idea that respect and diversity are substantial for a peaceful living.

Lara Zuliani de Arruda Corrêa

Lara is a curious and dedicated girl, who always had interest in animals and nature. As her father is a biologist, Lara was raised in an environment full of discoveries and investigation, which makes her interest in nature rise every day. In her spare time she loves cooking and watching action and adventure films. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Lara will talk about biodiversity and will show us that it is possible to use the Earth’s natural resources and keep nature safe.

She is a persistent student, always aiming to meet her challenges. For leisure she rides her bike, plays with her friends, travels and, of course, shops (but in a conscious way). Her best company is her family.

She loves eating chocolate, plays golf on the weekends and enjoys outdoor activities. Her favorite type of food is Japanese. She does not like soft drinks but loves chocolate milk. She likes going to shopping malls, buying clothes and going to the movies. She takes theater and music classes. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Manoella will defend the use of renewable and non-polluting energy as crucial for humankind.

Maria Alice is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. She likes reading, watching movies and cell phones very much. She dances ballet and swims. The activities she develops at the catechesis make her very happy. Weekends, holidays and sleeping please her. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Maria Alice will talk about the effects of deforestation, making clear that each one of us can help look after our planet.

Maria Luísa Beltrão Baraglio

Maria Luísa is a studious and interested student at Porto Seguro School. She loves German. She has plans to live in Germany in the future. She loves reading. Among her favorite types of books we can find dramas, comedies and terror. Lasagna is the dish she likes best, which makes her father call her Garfield. Dolls and Barbies do not appeal to her. Instead, she prefers board games like chess and checkers. Maria Luiza has many friends and is loved by them all. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Maria Luísa will explain what environmental wear is and how to avoid it so that in the future we can live in a healthier world.

Maria Luiza is ten years old, was born in São Paulo on Nov 11th, 2005. She loves to dance and have fun with her friends. She also loves to play soccer and volleyball. He loves biking and being with his friends. Pedro has a twelve-year-old brother and a pet dog, which he likes to play with. He swims in joy and helps his schoolmates whenever he can. Pedro defends the importance of people having respectful and gentle attitudes so that the world becomes more peaceful.

Pedro Henrique is a 5th grader at Porto Seguro School. Being sensitive, joyful and a nature appreciator, he is concerned about the future of our planet. At school he likes to participate in drama and music classes. Whenever invited to think about a better world, Pedro Henrique lets us know what his ideas are by proposing thoughtful solutions. According to him the world responds positively when we notice its beauty. A 5th grader at Porto Seguro School, Pietro is delighted with classes related to technological topics. A curious researcher and a natural questioner, he is always engaged in researches. Sharing his knowledge with his mates makes him quite happy. Reading (mainly thrilling stories) is one of his favorite pastimes. Perhaps because discovering new things is what really delights him, Pietro does believe that the world can be much better if each one does his best for mankind. In his opinion, warning people in such a way that they can start taking care of our planet is already a great contribution. And he is at his best to that. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Pietro will talk about the importance of preserving endangered animals, once the death of a single species may put many others at risk.

Ricardo Hideki Arikita

Ricardo is a 4th grader at Porto Seguro School. His dedication and interest in acquiring new knowledge makes him an outstanding student. He likes to share his discoveries with his schoolmates. Mathematics, Visual Arts and Science are his favorite subjects. Perceptive to what is going on around the world, Ricardo is conscious about his role as someone who can contribute to a better one. He supports Palmeiras, loves going out to eat with his family and, like most kids of his age, enjoys himself playing virtual games and watching videos at YouTube. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Ricardo will talk about how devastating hurricanes, tornados and typhoons can be. And he will mention some single solutions that could reduce their negative impacts.

Rodrigo Hobbs Ferraz de Camargo

Rodrigo is a happy boy, everyone’s fellow and loves being with his family. Reading is part of his routine. Adventure and comic strips are among his favorite types of books. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Rodrigo will make references to the barriers faced by the handicapped and how little actions can help them have a better life.

Silmara Casadei

Mediator
The passion for educating has been a signal in Silmara's long professional journey. An Educator for over 25 years, she has always acted towards the development of the multiple talents of children and youngsters, believing in the potentiality of the human being. Silmara is the Pedagogical Director of Visconde de Porto Seguro School, which has 9,000 Brazilian students, among which 1,600 from needy communities. She is the author of 34 books whose focus is on socio-environmental solidarity, having children and youngsters as their target public. Silmara has been chosen to curate the first Philosophy Exhibition for Children in Brazil. At PUC-SP she earned a Master Degree and a Ph.D. in Education, more specifically in the area of inter-disciplinarity. She is a Member of both the Academy of Letters of Greater São Paulo and the Peace Council at the Historical and Geographical Institute of São Paulo. She will mediate the presentations of 36 incredible children, incredible children.

Sophia Malheiros Scalise

Sophia is a cheerful student, persistent in every single attitude. She likes eating Japanese food and carrot cake. Hip hopping, ballet dancing, horseback riding and traveling are her favorite ways of having a good time. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Sophia will talk about the prejudice against the intellectually disabled and how to face it.

Victoria Frutas Silveira

Victoria is a 5th grader at Visconde de Porto Seguro School and loves studying. She is an avid reader, an extremely curious and persistent student. She takes ballet classes, likes to play tennis, to dance, to sail and to travel, mainly. Her favorites foods are pasta, steak and fruit. She has fun watching movies, practicing sports and going to a sports and social club. At TEDxKids@PortoSeguroSchool, Victoria will talk about diabetes, explaining its breakout and the importance of a diabetic person adopting a healthier lifestyle.
