Our event is designed to empower and inspire Qatar University students, faculty and local Qatar society. The event will gather inspiring individuals from both Qatar University community and the local society to share their ideas, discuss their issues and talk about their ambitions and experiences with a vision of inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas and empowering young leaders. TEDxQatarUniversity theme for this year is “The Ripple Effect”.

The Ripple Effect

It all starts with a drop. A drop that generates small ripples which rapidly get bigger and wider, and so do ideas. Each time a new idea appears to the community, it starts influencing people, lighting their thoughts and empowering their potential; leading the journey of change to a start!!

Abdullah Fetais

Student
A media student at Qatar University. He decided to hold on to the opportunities that come to him instead of wasting his time in waiting for the golden one, the first opportunity that comes he sees as his own it as his own because another may never come.

Baher Shehata

Student
An aspiring Mechanical Engineering student that possess leadership characteristics and is currently studying at Qatar University. Has huge interest in learning different languages and tries to gain fluency in as many as possible. A science geek that loves Einstein and all he did.

Baraa Derar

Student
A Civil Engineering student at Qatar University. He is an active volunteer in many fields but the most important ones are the New Students Orientation (NSO) and Volunteering Youth Forum. He is also considered one of the outstanding university-level debaters in the Arabic language in Qatar.

Juha Peralampi

Manager, Business Incubator, Qatar University
Mr. Juha Peralampi is a globally accomplished and experienced entrepreneurship and international business development professional with over 10 years of managerial experience. He has provided consulting for over 2000 start-ups and corporations in the past 15 years. He is also “The Most Successful Entrepreneurship Educator and Promoter in Finland” award winner in 2012.

Muneera Alfadala

Veterinarian
The first veterinarian originally from Qatar. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Veterinary Medicine. She is also a member of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and she is a focal point in the “National Foundation for Animal Welfare” in Al-Shaqab at Qatar Foundation.

Nour Isleem

Student
Nour is a fifth year pharmacy student in Qatar university. She is a Palestinian holds a Jordanian citizenship, who live in Qatar ever since her childhood, in short Nour is from the people who didn’t see their homeland but their belonging is to the sky covering them and to the land beneath them.

Salman Badnawa

Student
An Electrical Engineering student at Qatar University, technology enthusiast, passionate about Virtual Reality, believer of profession of Entrepreneurship, and a Co-Founder of ARVEX.

Shaimaa Ziara

MA Student in Translation Studies at Hamad bin Khalifa University, and Communication Assistant at Translation and Interpreting Institute.
Shaimaa Ziara is currently doing her Master's in Translation Studies at the Translation and Interpreting Institute at Hamad bin Khalifa University, where she also works as a Communication Assistant. Shaimaa got her Bachelor degree in English Literature from the Islamic University of Gaza in July 2015, and then moved directly to Qatar to pursue higher education.

Yousef Al-Shatie

Social Networking Coordinator
A social networks coordinator and a student at Qatar University. He was forced to abandon his academic studies in Syria, even though he only had two more courses to graduate from the English literature department, because of the ongoing war there. Currently, he is studying business management at Qatar University. He has written some articles that were published in Qatari newspapers concerning education. He is a humanitarian and educational activist who met several globally famous characters such as the Turkish President “Recep Tayyip Erdogan”, the former Turkish Prime Minister “Ahmet Davutoğlu” and the former Prime Minister of Syria and the Coordinator of the Supreme Commission for Negotiations “Riyad Hijab”.
