On 14 November 2016, TEDxGöteborg welcomes you to a whole day of new ideas - a chance to be inspired by a number of interesting talks and performances and to talk about your impressions with your fellow audience.
Knowledge is everywhere. When combined it can create a spectrum, but a spectrum is not limited to a specific set of ideas. Instead it can vary infinitely within a certain time and space, just like the colors of the rainbow or the diversity in people's taste in music. Zooming in a spectrum can cover differences around the world, the ups and downs in a person’s life, or multiple perspectives within a specific area of knowledge.
To us, the common thread is the great depth and the broad range of varied but related thoughts where parts tend to overlap and become meaningful. In this spirit TEDxGöteborg Spectrum gathers insightful speakers, tickling performances and an audience keen on rewarding social interactions. Together we create an event filled with all the unique experiences that represent TEDxGöteborg – characterised by curiosity, openness, change and the unexpected

Carl Nord & Simon Fors
After graduating from high school this past summer 2016, both of them went on to study at university, Carl in engineering design and Simon engineering physics. During their last year as classmates in the natural science program, they got the opportunity to work on a larger project and decided to study air resistance. Convinced that a physical constant on NASA’s website for how aerodynamic a certain object is was incorrect, Carl and Simon designed their own prototypes and conducted their own experiments and managed the impossible.Gbgimpro
Gbgimpro is an improv group that started in 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden with their main stage at Redbergsteatern. Not only do they provide a lively Friday night show, but they also offer improv classes for beginners and experienced actors as well as private workshops for team-building within companies.Göteborgs Indiekör
Göteborgs Indiekör is an indie choir, comprised of around 40 mixed gender members of different ages, who get together and sing not only indie music, but also soul and R'n'B. The choir formed in 2008 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and since then they have been writing their own arrangements of songs and have hosted a number of concerts.Christina Bengtsson

Born and raised in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere in Sweden, Elisabeth Wiklander moved to Amsterdam to study and work before she acquired a highly competitive position at the London Philharmonic Orchestra. She is no stranger to trying new things and reaching for her dreams. Besides being passionate about nature, rock climbing and playing cello, Elisabeth is autistic and was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when she was 28 years old. Until then, she had no explanations for her sometimes different thoughts and behaviour.Ergin Özdemir
When we think of a superpower, we often turn to flying, x-ray vision, or extreme strength. But what if the unique way someone perceives the world is their superpower? Social entrepreneur and diversity advocate, Ergin Özdemir has a great deal to say about such super powers. As a “love immigrant” in Sweden and the father of a child with autism, Ergin, has experienced the transformative power of diversity first hand, first as an individual and then as a successful businessman. Ergin has assisted some of Sweden’s largest organizations with their diversity initiatives, initiated around 50 internships, set up a tertiary education scholarship program in Turkey, and created the annual Diversity Achievement award of 100,000kr.Erik Wallin

Fredrik spent a lot of time observing birds when he was young and his interest in nature is still very much alive as an adult. When the research topic of a Smart Savannah in Ngulia was presented for him, he became deeply touched by it. He now spends more than half of his time testing technical solutions and gathering data in Sweden's Kolmården Zoo as well as helping the rangers in Kenya protect the rhino population against natural and man-made threats.Kajsa Bohlin
Kajsa is a freelance circus artist who performs worldwide. Discovered by the well-known artist ”Reino” at the age of eight, Kajsa completed her studies at the School of Dance and Circus in Stockholm. She is one of the founders of the company ”Sputnik and Wild Wonders” and has worked with Circus Cirkör, Cirk La Putyka, 7fingers, and Kristjàn Ingimarsson Company, among others. At present, she performs the role ”Helena" at Höstsonaten for Gothenburg City Theatre.Madeleine Leijonhufvud
How do you make this change happen? You need a strong proponent. Being the first woman to obtain a PhD in criminal law, Madeleine Leijonhufvud has dedicated her life to counteracting injustices. Through her extensive career from being a researcher and lecturer at Stockholm University to being the Deputy General Director of the Swedish Research Council, she has been one of the most prominent proponents of the proposed sexual offense legislation.Maria Källsson
Maria Källsson, is the CEO of Bok- och Biblioteksmässan, in Gothenburg, Sweden, the largest book and library trade fair in Scandinavia. A foundational principle of a book fair is freedom of expression, and it was also the main theme at this year’s fair 2016.Niclas Norlén
Upon completing his engineering degree, Niclas began working at Ericsson and in 2002 he started his first company. Frequencies and communication are what he knows best and have been a recurring theme in his work. In 2008, he started LumenRadio and developed a method for enabling different electronic devices to coexist smoothly, using frequencies in a more effective and dynamic way.Peter Brune
After spending a large part of his life in conflict zones, and inspired by the success of the international campaign to ban landmines, Peter developed the Humanium project in 2015. Peter’s creative solution to this “too-hard-to tackle” problem, empowered the TEDxGöteborg community to join him and his team at IM (Individuell Människohjälp) in making the world a safer place for all, one Kalashnikov at a time.Rino Solberg
Rino is the inventor of UNISLIP, a grinding machine for valves found in 80% of all nuclear powers stations today. He travelled the world with his invention and worked with many of the giants of the Personal Development world. At age 60, with an impressive breadth of business initiatives and areas of expertise under his belt, Rino decided to embark on yet another adventure. But, this time “to do something substantial that I could really have fun doing without thinking of making money for myself”, and so The Better Globe Group was born. With Master degrees from Simon Fraser University and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, Sascha is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Munich. After starting his career at the European Central Bank, he has been working as an economist in the International Monetary Affairs Division at the Deutsche Bundesbank, primarily in an advisory role for the German executive director at the International Monetary Fund.Shori Zand
After moving to Sweden from Iran in 1987, Shori Zand settled into her new home by learning the language and earning degrees in both general nursing and midwifery. After starting her own private healthcare company, Avesina, in 2000, the company grew from 2 to 1400 employees over a period of 8 years.Tina Glenvik
Tina Glenvik has been performing professionally on stage since the age of 15 and is no stranger to nervousness. With dual masters from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg in both Education in Music Pedagogy as well as Music and Drama Performance, she educates drama students about being in control of their bodies in front of an audience.Organizing team
