Theme: Sowing Seeds for the Future

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Lina Almarestani

University Professor

Dr. Lina almarestani is the associate professor at the Rochester institute of technology. She obtained her BS from the american university in Cairo in biology and chemistry and obtained her MS &PhD in McGill university in the field of behavioral neuroscience, specializing in chronic pain perception and depression. She has over a decade of experience in teaching health sciences while also being in charge of various student behavioural and academic support centers.
