In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jim O'Hanlon

Pastor
Jim O’Hanlon has been a Pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America since 2000, of St. Paul’s Church in Rye Brook since 2010. Raised in a large, Irish, Roman Catholic family, Jim has a keen interest in the liturgical, social and church reforms of the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s. Jim joined the the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America because of its witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the inclusion of women, Gays and Lesbians and all people in full participation and leadership in the church. After college he earned a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in NYC and subsequently a Master of Sacred Theology from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He completed several graduate courses in Jewish-Christian Studies at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Kevin Ge

Founder and CEO of Raw Beverages + Student at Edgemont Jr/Sr High School
Kevin Ge is passionate about producing natural, unadulterated food and beverages for consumers. Starting his business the summer before freshman year, Kevin has transformed his vision of the perfect grape juice into a successful commercial product, Raw Juice. In competitions, Raw Juice has won Silver at the Florida State International Wine and Grape Juice Competition, an equivalent of 80-90 on the Parker Scale. In addition to being a foodpreneur, Kevin is also passionate about bringing decision skills to young people, and is on the Youth Advisory Council of Decision Education Foundation. In his free time, Kevin is active in private and public equity and enjoys high-octane outdoor activities.

Kristin Saylor

Episcopal priest in St. Peter's Church in Port Chester, NY
The Rev. Kristin Saylor is an Episcopal priest, currently serving St. Peter’s Church in Port Chester, NY. Originally from Wisconsin, she is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Virginia Theological Seminary. She and her husband reside in the Bronx and enjoy availing themselves of New York City’s many cultural and culinary delights.

Lenni Benson

Professor at New York Law School + Director of the NYLS Safe Passage Project
Professor Lenni B. Benson has been teaching and writing in the field of immigration law since 1994. She is a professor at New York Law School and serves as the director of the NYLS Safe Passage Project. Visit: www.safepassageproject.org to learn more. The Project recruits, trains and mentors lawyers and student volunteers who are willing to represent immigrant youth and has won state and national awards for its promotion and support of pro bono work. She also teaches a clinic of advanced students who join other Safe Passage volunteers to screen immigrant youth at the New York Immigration Court each week. She is a national and international speaker on immigration topics.

Michael Cutney is the chef and owner of the popular restaurant, The Twisted Oak in Tarrytown. Where he brings to the table an Italian inspired American fare. Cutney was trained in the Culinary Institute of America. He has apprenticed under Fabio Picchi, a legend of Florentine cooking and worked with Danny Meyer, founder of Shake Shack. Gaining experience in restaurants such as Union Square Cafe and Tabla in Manhattan, and Cafe of Love and 42 The Restaurant in Westchester.

Michelle Greenwald is CEO of Inventours™, a firm that creates unique, highly curated visits to leading innovators in diverse fields (technology, product design, food) in creative cities such as Copenhagen, Paris, New York, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, to help global heads of new product development in companies improve their innovation processes. She runs "Innovation Days" for companies, with best practice benchmarking and observational, insight-generating "safari's" to foster cultures of innovation. Michelle is a unique blend of marketing practitioner, who worked at Disney, Pepsi-Cola, and Nestlé; She's also a marketing professor at Wharton, Columbia, Cornell, NYU, Berkeley and IESE business schools. Michelle writes about innovation for Forbes and Inc.com, and wrote the book Catalyzing Innovation to help firms innovate more systematically and inspire fresh thinking. Through her firm, Marketing Visualized, Michelle does business plan and marketing consulting, and executive education.

Ray Lustig

Composer, Faculty at Juilliard School
Ray Lustig is a renown composer and scientist and has achieved numerous accolades in each discipline. His music has been presented in venues ranging from New York City clubs and galleries to major concert halls and festivals around the world—from Le Poisson Rouge and Galapagos Art Space to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the École Normale in Paris. Also a highly respected researcher in moleclar biology, Lustig is fascinated by science, nature, and the mind. He has helped to co-found the Juilliard Weill Cornell Music and Medicine Initiative, a collaborative project that explores the many intersections of music, the sciences, the mind, and the healing arts.

Serdar Arat

Professor of Art, Director of Concordia Distinctive at Concordia College-New York
Serdar Arat is a visual artist, exhibiting internationally since the 1980’s, primarily in New York City, Istanbul, and Chicago, among others. His work as an artist is characterized by shaped paintings on canvas and wood, with dimensional surfaces, and metaphorical images of vents, sirens, and shadows, as well as sculptural landscapes in cast bronze and mixed media. A short documentary film, These Paintings Cast Shadows, by Kenneth Calhoon, exploring the process of Arat’s work was completed in 2013. His awards and grants as an artist include Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and 4th Asian-European Biennial Painting Award, Ankara Turkey.
