Kelly Tagalan
General Manager
Kelly Tagalan is a California native who came to Australia as a tourist, then decided to make it her new home. A year later, she helped a plucky do-gooder Annie Parker of Telstra, start Code Club Australia. Kelly is passionate about education, and in her nine years of experience working with after school programs and education non profits, she learned to ditch the lesson plan books and create student success with her students, rather than for them.
Kelly Tagalan is the General Manager of Code Club Australia, a network of coding clubs run by teachers and educators looking to give kids the skills, confidence and opportunity to shape their world though collaborative computer programming.
So far, she is working on fleshing out a thesis into a talk. The theme is How Children are Motivated to Learn- nothing of my own research
Rob Caslick
Project Engineer, Medland Metropolis
Rob Caslick believes that food is more than food. Six years ago he set up an organic soup kitchen in Kings Cross. His mission is to use food as a way to show dignity and demonstrate worth. The kitchen has expanded into a rooftop garden, a cooking school for young mums and now a social enterprise that has served almost 10,000 meals to domestic violence shelters and soup kitchens throughout Sydney. He credits the growth of the organizations to a crowdfunding platform called Chuffed.
