In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brian Tenorio

LGBT Advocate
Brian Tenorio (www.briantenorio.com) is CEO & Founder of Kape Coffee Company (www.kapecoffee.co), also International Consultant for Branding and Design at the Asian Development Bank and the World Health Organization. Tenorio's has 18 years of experience in Design, Development work, and Entrepreneurship. Tenorio's work in graphic arts includes award-winning designs for Jaime Zobel and National Artist Salvador Bernal. Up until his retirement from Fashion in 2008, Tenorio Manila was one of the most publicized Filipino designer shoe brands in the country. Tenorio also produced and hosted Design Para Sa Lahat (Design For All) that aired primetime Sundays in the USA via GMA Pinoy TV. He also was the Head of Jury in the 2012 Adobo Design Awards and also one of main proponents of the Design Competitiveness Act of the Republic of the Philippines in the same year. He was the Communications Director for Womensphere in New York.

David Bonifacio

David Bonifacio is the Managing Director of New Leaf Ventures, a private investment group, and CEO of Bridge, a software AND a service solutions company. He also serves on the boards of other organizations. Other than business, David is active in the social development world, having served in organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Real Life Foundation.

Girlie Garcia-Lorenzo

Child Life Specialist
Fatima “Girlie” Garcia-Lorenzo is a Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council, USA. She completed her Child Life internship at the University of California San Francisco Hospital. She is a professional Child and Family Psychologist and holds experience in Human Resources, Organizational Diagnosis and Counseling, and conducts training seminars and research studies on Team Building, Leadership Training and Strategic Planning. She finished her graduate studies on Child and Family Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. Ms. Garcia-Lorenzo holds the distinction of being the First Filipino Ashoka Fellow. She was chosen because of her work as a social innovator in the field of children’s health and public hospital system’s change for the past 23 years.

Joshua Malapit

Josh is a graduate student at the Disease Molecular Biology and Epigenetics Laboratory of the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. As a young scientist, he is passionate about cancer research, and dreams to see the world free of the disease, hopefully within his lifetime
