Bob McDonald

Bob McDonald OC is a Canadian author and science journalist. He is the national science commentator for CBC Television and CBC News Network (formerly Newsworld), and since 1992 has been the host of a weekly radio science show, Quirks & Quarks which draws approximately 800,000 listeners each week.

Dr. Dick Jones

Dick Jones - A retired researcher whose research centered around the study of lung mechanics in health and disease and at rest and during exercise. He studied the effects of breathing hyperoxic helium gas on dynamic hyperinflation and the work of breathing in exercising COPD patients. Other studies included a relatively invasive study to determine if intrapulmonary shunting is important as a cause for exercise-induced hypoxemia in athletes. Using filtering devices for CO2 in his research led him to investigate using the same filtration techniques in wine making and brewing.

Faith Steele is a 16 year old student from Summerland BC with a passion for cognitive health and an interest in pursuing psychology as a career.

Harry McWatters

Harry McWatters is the Founder of the Sumac Ridge Estate Wine Group and Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and serves as its President. Mr. McWatters serves as the President of the Vintage Consulting Group Inc., Black Sage Vineyards Ltd., Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards Limited, and Okanagan Estate Wine Cellars Ltd. and is responsible for government and industry relations in Western Canada for Vincor Canada. Mr. McWatters served as the Chairman of FortisBC Inc. since June 1, 2006. Mr. McWatters has been a Director of Terasen Gas Inc. since November 2007. He has been an Independent Director at Fortis Inc. since May 2007. Mr. McWatters serves as a Director of Terasen Inc. He served as a Director of FortisBC Energy Inc. since November 2011 until March 31, 2013. He served as Director of FortisBC Inc. In 2003, he was awarded the Order of British Columbia, for outstanding achievement. Mr. McWatters holds an Honorary Bachelor of Laws Degree from Okanagan University College.

Patricia was Director of Education at the Space Center Houston 1994 – 2007 (13 years) and lead a team of 25 professionals in developing and conducting professional development, student programs, international educational programs. Wrote and received grants of various amounts. Participated in numerous community committees. Part of team (4) responsible for overall success & future of Space Center Houston. She is now president of T2 Science & Math Education Consultants whose major project currently is Story Time From Space. Flying books to ISS where astronauts read them to the children of Earth and do science demonstrations around the books content. Library of readings will be housed on www.storytimefromspace.com. Books launch Jan. 9th, 2014! Astronaut Mike Hopkins has been reading the book. Books going up Max Goes to the Space Station, Max Goes to the Moon, Max Goes to Mars, Max Goes to Jupiter and The Wizard Who Saved the World all written by Jeffrey Bennett.

Travis Carey

Travis Carey lives in Vancouver and has been building and playing lutes for 20 years. He is a master luthier and his instruments are played by lute aficionados around the world

Yves Gagnon

Yves taught and was Chair of Mechanical Engineering at Okanagan College for 20 years before becoming President & COO of Loom Lighting. As President, Yves will build LOOM’s business structure and fulfil administration, finance & HR roles in start-up; as COO, he will establish project management directives for production within an Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework.
