In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Eleni Protopapa

History Education
Eleni always wanted to be a teacher. She is short-sighted because she would wear her mum’s reading glasses when she didn’t need them, pretending she was a teacher. As a teenager she focused on dance, art, and, being silly! With all her activities, she forgot she wanted to be a teacher. She truly didn’t realise what a cross-disciplinary profession it was. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and History of Art & Architecture, and a Master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Studies. During her studies, she held internship positions at the Science Museum (London) and the Princess Maha Shakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (Thailand). Upon completing her studies in 2010, she set up a cultural spot ('σκιά' / 'skia'); a project space focused on providing a platform for young artists and applying what she had learned during her Master’s degree. In 2011 she started tutoring History for international examinations like Edexcel and Cambridge International Examinations. In 2012 and 201

Thadd Correia

Special Education, Counseling and Theatre education
Thadd Correia was born in Trinidad and raised in Canada where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature and a Bachelor of Education at York University. He has earned additional qualifications in the areas of Special Education, Counseling and Theatre education. He moved to Cyprus in 2007 and has worked with the LGBTI communities and other charitable organizations in both Canada and Cyprus towards building safer, more caring, equitable societies with equal access to services, education and career environments that are free of harassment and discrimination. He values the power of community and strongly believes that lasting change requires the concerted efforts of a great many members of those communities. He sees his contributions as just a small part of a larger social movement that he hopes will continue to promote the message of caring for one another in order to further our intellectual and social evolution.
