A recently graduated software engineer, talked about seven steps a student must follow to make a better
university project in less time. Interestingly in his talk, the count started from number 6 and ended with
number 0, as programmers usually count. The speaker gave examples on how using technology and
computer softwares in projects can help improve quality of projects.
An Inventor, and a Member of Joy Club with Dr. Salah Al-Rashed, participated in the program of
preparation of leaders from the U.S. State Department. Talked about living the moment and how can a
person live the moment. Gave some inspirational techniques that can raise a person’s awareness.
A Student in the College of Industrial Management. Working in the field of student clubs since the
first week in university. Shared an idea of a skills transcript. In the beginning of his talk he displayed a
graduated student transcript with 4/4 GPA and stated that this student did not get a job directly and had
to go into many companies interviews, and the reason is that they wanted to know his skills. Then the
speaker explained how can student gain skills from on-campus activities, and how can the university
make such transcript.
A student majoring in marketing, journalist in the “Middle East” newspaper. Talked about the seventh
question that we have to add to ( who, what, when, where, how, why? ) to know what to do when we
are in any given situation. This question is ( how much ) ? Asking how much let you arrange your
priorities. Asking how much helps manage your time, your recourses, and your energy. In general
knowing how much is a must before making anything.
Marketing student and social activist talked about passion and its impact on a person's life. He
illustrated on the infinite loop ( I love what I do, because I do what I love, because I love what I do ….
). The speaker gave life examples of university students working and studying about things they are
really passionate about, and how these student were much more achieving than other students.
A student in architecture engineering department and a director and producer of many short films.
Talked about time as the tool of modern art. In the beginning of his talk the speaker explained
Einstein's theory of time and connected it with the use of time in modern art. The direct application of
this theory is a picture, which is an example of time equals zero. The speaker displayed some videos
that is made from different time frames and illustrated how changing time in a video has a great impact
on the audience.
