In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dominika Geregová

Dominika is 15 years old but she has been engaged in non-profit activities since her 7th grade. She connected helping others with her hobby and leads the "Deti detom" project today. This project enables her to help kids who are oncologically patient in a hospital in her town Banska Bystrica.

Jakub Kapuš

A big Slovak dream of reaching space has become reality thanks to Jakub who leads a team of engineers and space enthusiasts. As a result of their hard work, the first Slovak cubesat will be launched in May 2016.

Jakub Tomiš

Jakub managed to transform the Slovak village stereotype into a place full of culture and life. Lepsi Dolny Lopasov, an initiative he founded, actively improves his birthplace through a broad range of public events. Today, Dolny Lopasov is one of a few villages that is proud of having colourfully painted benches and other beautiful new things.

Marek Madro

Marek decided to do a full-time job with young who want to start their lives afresh. Those who are in need of help or mental support can turn to www.ipcko.sk, an online help center Marek founded. This platform has already saved many young lives.

Martin Lučan

Martin and his friends took a 600 kilometer long journey across Island afoot. He unveiles the motivation behind leaving the comfort of bed and taking a trip in the unpredictable Icelandic weather.

Matej Králik

Zajo and his team of young startupers dedicated to helping blind people developed smart bracelet called Batsuite. This gadget uses vibrations to signal to the user how far he is from surrounding objects and thus serves him as another sense.

Pavol Veselý

Pavol is an eye surgeon specializing on treatment of iris. He is introducing novel treatments all over Slovakia. Due to his seminars, innovation is spreading across Slovakia, rising the level of healthcare.

Tomáš Hasala

Tomas is full-time working with talented Slovak university students. His mission is to develop their personal and organization skills and persuade them to stay in Slovakia and transform it into a better place.

Tomáš Kompaník

Graphic designer Tomas knows best that nothing is impossible when you love your job and do it meticulously. Tomas is the author of a book AHA which describes and enhances the traditional Slovak patchwork. Aha received the Red Dot Award among other international awards.

Tomáš Žáček

Tomas devotes all his time to architecture. He and his colleagues created Ecocapsule. This revolutionary, energetically self-sufficient housing pushes the borders of travel and enables you to live wherever and in any immaginable weather conditions.

Zuzana Fajta

Creative and energetic Fajta is the founder of HEMMET.sk blog. This is where she gives space to clever young people who do not have enough opportunities to present themselves. She is also a co-organizer of very much liked Urban Market.
