In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abigail Zuckerman

Milken junior Abby Zuckerman is a wildly creative student attuned to the issues of the modern world. Interested and involved in the creative writing, art, and architecture programs at Milken, Zuckerman has more recently developed an interest in preventing global climate change. She has a newfound connection to veganism, a lifestyle which she has learned can greatly reduce harmful substances emitted upon the planet and a lifestyle she hopes to educate others about.

Daniel Dorsky

Daniel Dorsky has been attending Milken since the seventh grade, and is currently a junior in high school. His interests lie in people and how he can help them. To this effect, he has done a variety of community service work from volunteering to libraries and food shelters to counseling, logging over 500 hours. Daniel hopes to later pursue a major of Adolescent Psychology with a focus on therapy.

Evan Satlin

Evan Satlin, born in Los Angeles, California, is currently 17 years old. His interests include playing basketball, attending Krav Maga classes, going to summer camp, and surrounding himself with friends and family. Diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome, Satlin dubs this as “one more obstacle to overcome” and hopes to raise awareness about the condition as well as eliminate the stigmas often associated with it.

Phoebe Cohen

Phoebe Cohen is currently in her senior year at Milken Community Schools. She is both highly interested and heavily involved in the worlds of science research and music. She is planning on going to college to study classical double bass performance and neuroscience as a double major. Cohen began studying classical piano and music theory at the age of 4, and has performed at venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. She was also just awarded the Intel Science Talent Search 2016 Student Initiative Award from the international science research competition, Intel STS.

Stevie Gordon

Stevie Gordon is currently in his junior year at Milken Community Schools. Always passionate about music, Gordon has recently begun making a name for himself in the world of music production. DJing under the name KidKardio, he has released several self- produced tracks that have already grasped the attention of students and professionals alike, and can currently be listened to on SoundCloud.
