To Go Boldly is a concept that one associates with the fearless and daring approach to doing something. It means to venture out into the unknown and to do something that at times may seem both daunting and unconventional. TEDxFCCollege strongly believes that the fearlessness and courage it takes to Go Boldly are imperative aspects in innovating, improving, and growing, not just amongst individual people, but also for societies and the world around us.
The phrase “Go Boldly” was once limited to physical adventures and arduous journeys, however, it is now applicable to every field and sector imaginable. What people sometimes forget to realize is that all new ideas or techniques require exploration and the mettle needed to actually meet the challenges that come with that exploration.
There is a need to teach people how to perceive the world in different ways, to make important connections, to ask the right questions, to generate viable solutions and to then Go Boldly out into the world to apply those solutions.
Our team realizes this need, and therefore TEDxFCCollege 2015 would like to invite individuals who truly understand what it means to Go Boldly, and how they apply this idea within their respective fields. We welcome not only budding entrepreneurs who are boldly striving to change the market, but everyone who saw the world not as it was, but how it could be.
The characteristics required to Go Boldly are innumerable and varied. For TEDxFCCollege, it is a matter of highlighting these characteristics, who is using them, and how.

Saad Idrees is a technologist and social entrepreneur. He serves as the Co-Director at the Social Innovation Lab and works with governments in designing and deploying information systems to make better decisions.
