TEDxNewYorkSalon is an intersectional community of diverse, open-minded and passionate individuals, who connect via private salons and other curated events. The longest running and most active TEDx program in New York City, our community has met almost every Friday since 2009. We'd love to welcome you to join us this Friday at The Olivia (315 West 33rd Street) for a private Salon.

Doors open at 5:00 pm, the screening begins at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Let our seasoned facilitators guid you at this week's salon based on a curated pre-recorded TED Talks. Our salons explore a specific theme for discussion, and after screening the talk, you are invited to share in a lively discussion to investigate the chosen theme from multiple points of view. This weekly event has shifted how connections are made by offering a soft space for hard conversation. A place where listening is just as important as speaking. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

About this week's facilitator, GINA BRIA.

Named Real World Scholar with World Evolved Lecture Series, Gina is a cultural anthropologist researching ritual, ritual foods and food strategies for over 25 years. She is Founder and Executive Director of the Hydration Foundation and CEO of HYCHIA, LLC. Trained at Columbia University, she is a former Berlin Fellow with the Social Science Research Council, a National Endowment for the Humanities finalist and has been featured at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She weds ethnographic strategies to the new science on hydration to serve the elderly, school children, athletes and hydrating while traveling. She has coached many of TED speakers on better brain performance. An innovator and inspiring speaker, her work has appeared in such diverse places as The New York Times, Grand Central Station, Harvard University and the Wissenschaftskollege, Berlin.
A member of the organizing team since 2011, Gina keeps our community collaborative and connected.

More about our salons: Unlike most TEDx events which focus on a presentation format, TEDxNewYorkSalon is designed by our team of curators to spark conversation and dialogue, throughout the event. Rather than spotlighting individual speakers or facilitators, we create the soft space for hard conversation. During these gatherings, we screen one evocative TED Talk (via projector) followed by a lively conversation. The featured TED talk is a surprise, but we promise it will ignite deep thinking and connection. We look forward to seeing you there!
