We are delighted to tell you that the first TEDxYouth@stepanavan
event took place on October 30, in the 2015 Youth Capital of
Armenia, Stepanavan.

At TEDxYouth@Stepanavan event attendees heard heard our young speakers from
across the country on a variety of themes: gender discrimination,
learning about learning, doing instead of complaining, inclusive
education, happiness, the beauty of different ages, trusting the
youth, different thinking approaches and so on. In between the talks,
there was a surprise presentation prepared by the youth in Lori
and a surprise guest performance rock band Empyrey.
Most importantly, we promise that
after the event attendees will revisit their attitude towards young people
and their participation and role in the development of our country and this was exactly what we heard as a feedback

The event will took place in the Cultural House of the town of
Stepanavan.

The registration starts at 11:00am. At 12:00 pm, our special host was
on the stage to announce the official opening of the event. Guest
also travel from Yerevan and it took them 3 hours to get to Stepanavan.

TEDxYouth@Stepanavan event was organized in partnership with World
Vision Armenia, UNICEF and Tumo and was a big success.

Alla is 20 years old. She lives in Yerevan and studies in Yerevan State University, in the faculty of History. She likes to cuddle in the hanging veil and gets angry when one cuts cheese with butter knife. Alla has a rest when she doesn’t think about anything.

Karine Karapetyan

Karine is 21 years old. She studies in Armenian State Economic University. She likes to communicate with interesting people, travel and wants to be educated, active and a useful person for her country. She gets angry with liars, evil men and confusion. Karine will talk about that we needn’t disguise our feelings.

Ani Davtyan

Ani is 17 years old. She is from Aparan town, Aragatsotn. Now she studies in YSU, in the faculty of Journalism. She wants to be an educated and active person. She cannot stand indifference. Future journalist Ani will talk about using trustworthy information.

Ani Nalbandyan

Ani is from Kurtan community. Now she studies in Yerevan State University in the faculty of Romance languages. Ani likes to study languages and tries to find similarities in them. She says that has no dreams but has goals and one of them is to make a revelation in the field of linguistics. She gets angry when she has to wait for someone or when she makes someone wait.

Arman Asryan

Arman is 21 years old. He is from Kapan. He studies in Yerevan State University, in the faculty of Economics and Management. Arman cannot stand people who give importance to only mental or physical development of people as Arman is sure that they are interconnected. He is going to talk about people’s different ages and their peculiarities.

Armine Khachatryan

Armine is from Vardenis town. She studies in Armenian State Pedagogical University in the faculty of Foreign Languages. She wants to have her small contribution in the improvement of her home country. She is worried about people's indifference towards people with mental disabilities and generally weak ones.

Gayane Tonoyan

Gayane is 19 years old. She is from Dalarik village of Armavir region. She studies in YSU, in the faculty of Philosophy. Gayane likes independence and gets angry when people get angry. Gayane is going to present the difference between self-education and self-teaching.

Lilit Nerkararyan

Lilit is 25 years old. She graduated from Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute and now works in Kurtan community secondary school as a teacher. She dreams to live alone and have her own business. Lilit hates people who are liars, inane and senseless.

Margarita Avagyan

Margarita is 15 years old and studies in “Foton” college, in Gyumri. She wants to become a programmer. She likes to take photos and dreams to travel so much that the airport employees see him and ask "Where are you going this time?" Margarita will speak about so much desired happiness.

Mariam Hayrapetyan

Mariam is 16 years old and studies in Amasia community secondary school. After that she is going to enter Yerevan State University and study in the faculty of Sociology. Mariam says that she promised herself never get angry with people while communicating with them and try to identify and understand people's attitudes towards life. She doesn’t like when people feel proud of her.

Mariam is from Tchambarak town. She studies in Yerevan State University, in the faculty of International relations. Mariam’s dream is to see her country out of this crisis.

Mijerita Khachatryan

Mijerita is 19 years old, she is from Talin. She studies in YSU, in the faculty of International Relations. She wants to live in a peaceful country where all her peers will have the right to express their opinion. She does not like the stereotypes in the society and is interested in the ways how to change them. Mijerita will talk about how parents affect on children’s thinking.

Nvard Simonyan

Nvard is 22 years old. She is from Akhtala town of Lori region. She studies in Yerevan State University and jointly works at Akhtala secondary school № 2 as a computer operator. She dreams to become a teacher and work with children. She gets angry with foppery.

Rubik Galstyan

Rubik is 19 years old. He graduated from Stepanavan State Agrarian college. Now he works in “Sotchut” resort and is a volunteer in World Vision. He dreams to become a doctor.

Sara Nersesyan

Sara is 18 years old and studies in Kapan branch of Armenian National Polytechnic Foundation and at the same time she works in World Vision as a social worker. After finishing her education perhaps she will work in a mine. Sara likes to write poems and dreams to be in New York or Paris. She gets angry when she has to wait and is cheated. She doesn’t imagine her life without voluntary work.

Sargis Chichakyan

Sargis is 22 years old. He studies in Gavar State University. He makes leather goods and sells them. He likes the hard-won achievements and cannot stand emptiness. Sargis shares his experience about overcoming obstacles while starting a new business.

Tigran Gevorgyan

Tigran presented Armenia in Special Olympic games three times - in 2011, in the last two games in Greece and this year in the United States won the world championship title in free-swimming tournament. In addition to sporting success Tigran finished the special school after Mkhitar Sebastatsi and is also a well-qualified hairdresser. He started his education at a special school, but moved to a secondary school and gained lots of friends and profession.
