Theme: The Art of Technology

This event occurred on

We are all artists in our own right. Whether it’s the art of education, the art of science, or
the art of storytelling, creativity will always find its way into the avenues of our lives.
And yet, words like “creativity” and “artist” have been tainted to represent only a select
few, leaving the rest depicted in grey. I want you to consider, if only for one night, a new
definition of art...

I believe there is something that unifies every art form, and I believe that something is
technology. We dream, think, and create with our tools, and in turn, our tools create us. Art
asks the question “how do we use our best tools to create the world we wish to see? “ and
whether it be the pen, the internet, the body or the microscope, our technologies prove to
empower, liberate, and connect us as individuals and as a collective.

On April 16th, TEDx NewCollegeofFlorida will illuminate a new story
about technology, creativity, and what it means to be an artist. Showcasing the remarkable
talent of students and experts that thrive within our community, we will discover how
language, eco-buildings, virtual reality and more, can be used as tools to unlock the artist
within us. Join us for a uniquely brilliant event, as our speakers, performers, and educators
unfold a new chapter of art, creativity, and innovation. On behalf of TEDx and New College
of Florida, I invite you to experience The Art of Technology.
