On April 23, 2016, over 1000 of Africa’s most curious and creative, interesting and interested, positive and progressive thinkers and doers will gather at the National Theater again to be inspired by visionaries sharing their unique stories and valuable perspectives at TEDxAccra2016 themed ‘Re-Think’.

TEDxAccra is the largest event of its kind in Ghana with an audience of over 1500 gathered at the National Theatre to share and discuss innovative and creative ideas. Our former speakers range from activists, entrepreneurs, historians, scientists, explorers, technologists and artists that shared insights and ideas related to, or relevant to, the Ghanaian society and the world as a whole

Adjoa Boateng

A Physician
A physician well-versed in helping patients deal with pain, Adjoa Boateng has seen the many different reactions of people to pain. Aside her work as a Junior Physician in the ICU, she has worked with the drug addicts, young veterans, non-violent offenders and abuse victims.

Amma Sefa-Dedeh Lartey

Ama Sefa-Dedeh Lartey is a young lady who is very passionate about how business and driven entrepreneurship can drive social transformation. She leads the Africa Region of Reach for change, an organisation which runs innovation, competitions, accelerators, incubators and hubs for social entrepreneurs in Ghana, Tanzania and other parts of Africa.

Dilys Sillah is Founder and CEO of Who Will Hear My Cry (WWHMC), an NGO that is focused on raising awareness on rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence. She has grown to become a voice for rethinking the status quo, and creating an enabling environment for young girls to thrive, and feel safe from sexual abuse.

Dr. Elikem Tamaklo

Dr. Tamaklo, the managing director of Nyaho Medical Centre, a leading health care provider in Accra and the first private group of Medical Practice in Ghana. Passionate about influencing better healthcare in Africa and maintaining the trust that has been placed in medical practitioners.

Dr. Paul Henry Dsane-Aidoo

He is a Medical office and the Acting Medical Superintendent at Kosoa Polyclinic. He is also a public health advocate and a one-time member of the Ghana Medical Association Public Health Advocacy Team. His vision is to disciple, mentor and bring young Ghanaians unto strategic leadership. He is married to Belinda with a son called Aseda.

Dr. Thomas Tagoe

Dr. Thomas Tagoe is a PhD holder in Neuroscience, basketball lover and a die-hard Leicester City fan. He is Co-founder of GhScientific, a project that seeks to solve the problem of poor science education and communication in Ghana.

Edem Adzaho

As an International Training Consultant who meets people pursuing careers chosen by parents and guardians, she, like many people, took a completely different career path from what she got formally trained in. Edem, is the Founder of The Global Graduate Academy and also manages the award winning human Capacity Development Company, SPEC Consult limited where she has coached and trained over 5000 young Ghanaians and some West Africans on world class employability skills, entrepreneurship and accessing scholarship opportunities.

With several experiences all over Africa, justice Sarkodie-Mensah believes she, as a jurist and legal consultant over the years and working in different jurisdictions in Africa and outside Africa has exposed her to many situations that she feels the need to share

Lisa Lovatt-Smith

Lisa Lovatt-Smith is English but was born in Spain. Her life experience of being abandoned at age 4 and being a foster child who was later reunited with her biologically mother gave her a better understanding of how families care for children better than orphanages. This enabled her open a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in rural Ghana OAfrica. Their duty is reunite abandoned children with their extended families.

Louis Manu, is the head of data, innovations and product development at Airtel. He leads partnerships and business development and development of innovative products. Also at Revision App at google campus London helped UK startup team execute their new product that helped change the way hundred thousands of kids studied in the UK and in EU as a whole.

Lucy Quist

Lucy Quist is s multiple award winning telecoms CEO currently heading Airtel Ghana. She is a British and Ghanaian International Business Leader and the first Ghanaian woman to lead a multi-national telecommunications company. Her vast experience in telecommunications covers both mobile and fixed telephony for consumers and businesses.
