In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Barbara Lang

Public speaker, etiquette coach, and food entrepreneurship consultant
Barbara Lang is a courtesy advocate, food entrepreneur consultant, career coach and social cause volunteer with over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Her career experiences range from schooner chef in the Caribbean, Napa Valley winery culinary director, Cornell University lecturer and career advisor, restaurant owner and Lifelong Learning Coordinator for an around-the-world voyage. Barbara currently serves as Advisory Board Chairperson with EGBOK Mission, a nonprofit school in Cambodia where young, under-served adults receive hospitality and life skills. Barbara holds a B.S. degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Professional Studies in Food Marketing from Cornell’s Department of Applied Economics and Management. Barbara is an avid triathlete, world traveler and mother of two daughters who describe her as an “all-around badass—in a good way.” The title of her talk is "Don't Should On Yourself."

Deborah Kuehner

Deborah Kuehner is the Founder and Executive Director of The Potter’s Hands Foundation, a not-for-profit organization working toward building a safe house for victims of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking and creating community awareness about this horrific crime. Deborah holds a Bachelor’s of Social Work Degree from Mansfield University and a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from Elmira College. Deborah has twenty-six years of paid and volunteer experience working with youth and youth at risk in a variety of programs. She worked with the Grow Together Program as a youth counselor with Family Service Society of Corning, NY, and she was the initial Director of the Woodhull Family Resource Center in Woodhull, New York. The title of her talk is "Rescuing Girls and Restoring Hope".

Dr. Sammy is the associate, Professor Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Guthrie Clinic, and associate Professor, Commonwealth Medical College, His area of Expertise is: Adult cardiac surgery focusing on valvular heart disease, The title of his talk is: " The body on a chip for the treatment of aortic stenosis" .
