In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Kali Ilunga

Kali is an entrepreneur with innovative companies in New York and Johannesburg. His services, products and content have helped brands across Africa participate in the new economy through viable ideas. With partners such as Microsoft, DSTV, and renowned angel investors - Kali has a unique perspective on how organizations and individuals can use ideas to innovate in expedient and positively disruptive ways. He has spoken to audiences at conferences at Harvard University and big brands based in Johannesburg, Lagos, Accra, and more.

Lillian Nkosazana Moremi

Lillian is the founder of Botswana Student Network Society, working together with dedicated youth volunteers to empower the student community across Botswana in efforts to promote academic excellence. Lillian is an accounting graduate from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and is currently the manage of Ducere Foundation Botswana, developing passionate learners and leaders in partnership with educational stakeholders

Mahube Mpugwa

Mahube is a business leader and mountaineer. He is a founder member of Tshwaragano Adventure Trust, a cancer association in Botswana. He has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2012 and trekked to Mount Everest Base Camp in 2015.

Nijel Amos

Nijel Amos is a middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters discipline. At the 2014 Prefontaine Classic, Amos set a meet record and world leading time of 1:43.63. At the Herculis IAAF Diamond League, he again set a meet record and world leading mark of 1:42.45. Beating Radish for the 2nd time on the season, his performance was the fastest 800 meter race since the men's 800 meter race. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Amon won the 800 meter Gold medal.

Stuart White

Stuart White is the Managing Director of HRMC in Botswana. He has worked both in the human resource field both in South Africa and Botswana specializing mainly in recruitment, talent management and coaching. Stuart is also the founder of several other businesses in Botswana: HRMC Talent, Staffwise Botswana and Careerpool.

Tebogo Nomadic Mapine

Tebogo Mapine aka Nomadic, started his rap career in the mid 1990s, and later become a member of the legendary P-Side crew. His inspiration into hip-hop was the way it brought words to life, and how awareness was cultivated through it's social commentary and sharp written lyrics. Tebogo is currently a multimedia artist.

Tendekayi Katsiga

Tendekayi Katsiga an innovator and entrepreneur. He is the Operational Director of Deaftronics-Solar Ear Botswana, is a company which produces high quality low cost solar powered hearing aids made by people who are deaf for people with a hearing loss. He is part of a team which developed the first rechargeable hearing aid battery, which lasts for 2-3 years and can be used in 80% of hearing aids on the market today.

Thulaganyo Ntsatsi

Thuli is a leading strategist and thought-leader in Botswana. He has over 20 years of experience in management practice. He has pioneered and implemented number key projects in Botswana. He was part of the team responsible for the development and oversight of ConceroTel's Botswana market-entry strategy, mobilization of Botswana's e-Government Programme, implementation of ISO 9000 standards in three different organizations etc.

Timothy Maurice Webster

Timothy is an author of three brand leadership books and a columnist who consults and speaks on the science of Human and Brand Behavior with an emphasis on three key leadership pillars; Values Formation, Behavioral/Style Manifestation and Brand Influence and Positioning. Timothy's background in branding, design and psychology is inspired by his graduate studies at the Image Institute (2003) and at Brookstone College, USA (1996). His leadership ideas inspire dialogue and asks his stakeholders (readers, clients) to go to the outskirts of their consciousness in order to consider new scope of their personal and organisational brands.

TJ Dema

TJ Dema is a poet who favours reading her work out loud and has done so in countries including but not limited to Germany, Zimbabwe, Colombia, India, USA, Scotland, Mexico, Brazil and France. She participated in Lancaster University’s Crossing Borders program and later mentored the all female team of national champions for the British Council’s 7 country Power in the Voice initiative. She is an honorary fellow of the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program (2012), former chairperson of the Writers Association of Botswana and runs Sauti A&PM - a Botswana based arts administration organization. For her work within Botswana’s literary community she was named an Arise Magazine African Changemaker (2013) and a St Louis Top 40 under 40 catalyst (2014). Her chapbook Mandible (2014) was published by Slapering Hol Press for the African Poetry Book Fund as part of the Seven New Generation African Poets.
