In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Darren is General Manager for North Europe Middle East & Africa at SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software. Darren’s passionate and innovative approach to management and his unique understanding in how technology can help unravel complex business issues, has led him to be one of SAP’s youngest and most respected leaders globally. As well as supporting customers with their digital transformation journey, Darren has a personal commitment to support the promotion of early talent and diversity within SAP, and is an active leader and role model in both these areas. Darren started his career in Sales in South Africa and during his 20 year tenure spanning across Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America, he has worked for some of the world’s largest technology companies as well as a technology start-up during the Millennium. Darren is South African and currently lives in London with his young family.

Dr Norman Lewis

Dr Norman Lewis is recognised as an expert on future trends and user behaviours with regard to technology innovation and adoption. He has spoken on these topics at events all over the world. Norman is currently a Director at PwC responsible for running their crowd sourced innovation programme. He was the Director of Technology Research for Orange UK, and an Executive Board member of the MIT Communications Futures Programme and a former chairman of the ITU TELECOM Forum Programme Committee. He is a co-author of Big Potatoes: the London manifesto for innovation.

Being diagnosed with Early onset Parkinson’s Disease was a life changing moment for John but he was keenly aware to determine whether his life would be controlled by his condition or whether he took the controls himself. An example of his determined, some would say dogged attitude, was to walk from Lands End to John O Groats using a unique untried route. John now spends his time talking about walking and raising awareness of early onset PD but he may have a new plan up his sleeve!

Tallulah Rendall

Musician
2014 Women Of The Future Arts & Culture Shortlist Nominee and one of the first artists to introduce Crowd Funding into the UK in 2006. Tallulah has since written, produced, crowd funded and self released (on her label Transducer Records) three albums; Libellus (2009), Alive (2011) & The Banshee And The Moon (2014). Considered a maverick in the industry as an artist unafraid to challenge the norm. With each of her albums she has collaborated with visual and performance artists producing a hardback book to accompany each album, complete with artwork, stories and lyrics. She was also the first UK artist to initiate Living Room Shows in the UK. Beginning in 2006, Tallulah chose to take her music to her audience. To this day she continues to perform all around the world both on main stages of festivals, headline shows in prestigious venues, and also in homes, gardens, caves, churches, on boats..the more unique the better.
