In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Heather Michael

Heather Michael, after working as the International Baccalaureate Coordinator and Theory of Knowledge teacher at CPA High School in Bedford, NS, is now completing her Doctorate of Education in New York. She loves working with students in the classroom, through service learning projects and by supporting them in their extracurricular and leadership pursuits. She uses TED talks in her classroom to bring multiple perspectives and ideas to her students.

Jack DeGooyer

Jack DeGooyer is a highly motivated high school student completing the International Baccalaureate program at Charles P Allen High School in Bedford, Nova Scotia. A strong public speaker who has participated in many debate competitions across the country, Jack inspires others to become leaders in today's society. He also enjoys biking and hiking in his spare time.

Linda Wills

A former high school administrator and teacher in the HRSB, Linda has volunteered extensively with the Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign as Atlantic Canada Regional Liaison. Married, with 2 sons and a daughter, she is also a proud grandmother of 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Linda is passionate about swimming, knitting, piano and spending time with her grandchildren. She is also a certified pole walking instructor.

Madeline Biso

A big reader and writer, madeline Biso is a high school student with works published online in The Legend of Maplewood Library, and in print in the anthology That Golden Summer. She loves spending time outside and with family.

Madeline Toal

Madeline Toal is currently a high school student. She is deeply involved in her school's drama community and she enjoys making films. She is passionate about filmmaking, acting and travelling. Madeline wants to be an actress or filmmaker in the future.

Sean Therien

Sean is an entrepreneur, world traveler, adventure sport athlete and owner of Ground Zero Climbing Gym in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is very passionate about rock climbing, cycling, and teaching.

Stacey Bragg

Stacey is a Registered Psychologist who has been working with children and adolescents in schools for the past 15 years. She has extensive experience completing comprehensive psychological assessments, counselling, and supporting behavioural challenges. She loves filling every spare minute of her time with her husband and three super cute little kids. True to her Cape Breton roots, she enjoys spending lots of time with her extended family, eating, running, taking photographs, party planning, and everything in between.
