In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Angela Ipach

Angela Ipach leitet die Organisation Junge Helden e.V., die seit 13 Jahren deutschlandweit von Berlin und München aus über Organspende aufklärt. Noch in Mainz lebend hat sie 2003 die Organisation in Berlin mitgegründet und ist zum Studium nach Berlin gezogen, wo sie die Arbeit von Junge Helden kontinuierlich unterstützt hat. Nach dem Tod ihrer Schwester und Gründerin von Junge Helden e.V., Claudia Kotter, stand für sie und das gesamte Team fest: Junge Helden wird weitergehen.

Benjamin Adrion

Benjamin Adrion ist Organisationsentwickler und Initiator des internationalen Netzwerkes Viva con Agua, das sich für den menschenwürdigen Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser und sanitärer Grundversorgung einsetzt. Die Vision: Alle für Wasser – Wasser für Alle. Dabei ist Viva con Agua die erste All-Profit-Organisation, deren Aktionen allen zugutekommen. Dieses Erfolgskonzept hat innerhalb von 10 Jahren nach der Gründung zu über 10.000 Ehrenamtlichen geführt, die 1.8 Millionen Menschen mit Wasserprojekten erreicht haben. Für sein Engagement wurde Benjamin Adrion 2009 mit dem Bundesverdienstkreuz ausgezeichnet. Berufsbegleitend studierte er internationales Management. Seine Fußballkarriere zuletzt für den FC St. Pauli in Hamburg beendet er 2006, um sich ganz seiner Vision einer Welt ohne Durst zu widmen.

Diane Torr

Diane Torr is a performance artist, who since the 1980s has performed as a male. In her workshops "man for a day" / "woman for a day" Diane resolves gender prejudices and teaches both males and females to see the world as well as themselfes from the opposite genders perspective.

Ibrahim Andrun

Ibrahim was born in Lattakia, Syria. Already in his early childhood he showed a remarkable talent for languages, which he has inherited from his mother, who still works as a French teacher today. He was determined to become a journalist like his big idol Adel Karam. In 2014 Ibrahim graduated from high school, ready to study journalism in Syria, when he decided to leave to Germany.

Jason Grullon

Jason Grullon is co-founder and CEO of VIRTŪ, a start-up company, which is aiming to break with the existing fashion system and bringing fairness and sustainability to the garment industry worldwide. His career as social entrepreneur started when he was five years old, growing up in the Dominican Rebublic confronted with the inequalities of life. Moreover Jason Grullon is representative of the Coalition of Youth Organisations in The Council for Economic and Social Affairs ,Co-Founder and member of the Human Development Club and former member of The Youth Advisory Panel of The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). As a lawyer he is Chair of The Week of Law and Business as well as Co-Chair of the international arbitration seminar "Convergence and Divergence of Investment and International Commercial Arbitration.

Kareem Kousa

Kareem was born in Lattakia, Syria as the son of the former national football goalkeeper. He expected a promising life as a professional football player in syria for himself as well. In his youth, he spent his summers in training camps with all the well known syrian football teams. Even Barcelona was planned – if he would not have left his home.

Maike Koberg

Maike Koberg ist ehemalige professionelle Handballspielerin der deutschen Bundesliga und ausgebildete Mentaltrainerin mit langjähriger Erfahrung im Team-Coaching. Sie unterstützt unter anderem die deutsche Jugendnationalmannschaft im Handball und die Jugendmannschaft des Handballvereins HSV Hamburg. Darüber hinaus betreut Maike Koberg zahlreiche Einzelsportler und Führungskräfte und unterstützt Sie mit mentalen Training um Ihre persönliche Bestleistung abzurufen.

Oded Kafri

Drummer and solo-artist Oded Kafri grew up as an hyperactive child in Israel, Tel Aviv. He started playing drums at the age of 10, practicing in a bomb shelter 8 hours a day. As a teenager, he moved to Paris with his family. After a demoralizing “fête de la musique”, probably France´s most popular street music festival, Kafri decided to take his fortune in his own hands and moved to London. He set up his drumkit on London streets playing solo and became very soon a one-man party and YouTube phenomenon with over a million hits. While he needed to go back to Israel over and over again, usually because of bureaucratical issues, he travelled and lived in England or even in Africa to improve his drumming skills. In 2016, he plans his solo-tour through the USA to realize his dream of “Drum(ming) the world”.

Oliver Wurm

Oliver Wurm, gebürtiger Sauerländer, treibt als gelernter Sportjournalist stets neue und innovative Projekte voran, wie z.B. lokale Stickeralben für die Größen und Locations deutscher Städte, die Fußball-Magazin-Serie „54749014“ oder auch die Bibel als Magazin. Seit 20 Jahren lebt Oliver in Hamburg und überwindet mit seiner Arbeit immer wieder neue Grenzen und Widerstände nach dem Motto "mit der Idee fängt die Arbeit erst wirklich an".

Prof. Dr. J. Rod Franklin

Former CEO Prof. Dr. J. Rod Franklin is decan of the KLU University in Hamburg, Germany and teaches young students data analysis, innovation and critical thinking. He finished his studies at Stanford and Harvard University and travels the world to speak about “future Internet”.

Yusuf Zein

Yusuf was born in Lattakia, Syria as the son of an optician and a mother, who had graduated at the departmend of arabic literature. He spent a life like everybody else in syria. He went to school and met with friends on the beach. In 2013 he started studying electrical and electronic engineering in Cyprus on a private university. This is where he lived, when he decided to leave.
