The advancement of females is an essential part of the global development, and Beijing holds a special place for international women's advancements.

2015 marks the 20 year anniversary for United Nations' Fourth World Conference, which took place in Beijing back in 1995. The Beijing Declaration calls for "Women's empowerment and their full participation on the basis of equality in all spheres of society".

This is the right moment for us to hold TEDxChaoyanWomen, inviting top thinkers and doers to explore and innovate, to imagine with bold ideas of new ways to work and life, to share the stories that encourage creations, inspirations and deep thinking, and to experience how scientists make significant breakthroughs and explore with social activists on how to change the world's perspectives on women.
