In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Tori Holmes

Talk: Fear as an Expression At 21 years old, Tori became the youngest woman at the time to row across the Atlantic Ocean in a 24ft ocean rowing boat from Spain to the Caribbean with only her rowing partner, Paul Gleeson by her side. To Tori's surprise, facing hurricanes, dehydration, emotional lows, immense physical pain and 12 hours of rowing a day made it far more of a mental than physical challenge. She survived the crossing both in body and spirit by believing “the difficult you do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer.” Following her crossing she was inspired to take her learnings at sea and apply them to entrepreneurship and recently co-founded Nectar Juicery, a 100%, organic, cold-pressed juice company focused on modern nourishment and corporate wellness.
