TEDxYouth@TampaRiverwalk 2015 marked our 6th Annual TEDxYouth event in Tampa, and joined with TEDxYouth events all over the world to explore the theme “Made in the Future”.

Prior to the event, guests were able to enjoy some “Made in the Future” fun at The HIVE makerspace on the 3rd floor of the West building of the John F. Germany Library. The HIVE is a 10,000 sq. ft. public creative space featuring an Arts Center, Robotics Lab, collaborative workspaces, Media and Recording Studio and hands on work centers. Visitors were able to explore the center, play with littleBits and MaKey MaKey electronics kits, learn about Tampa Gamers and join in a drop-in 3D printing program before heading downstairs for our TEDxYouth event!

At the event, our slate of awesome young change agents talked about everything from being at the leading edge of political change, to 3D printing, making learning accessible and inclusive and the value of STEM education in our future. We also got to hear the amazing Maestro Maines Show Steelers putting a tropical spin on old favorites, showing how old traditions can be made part of the future, too!
