TEDxWroclaw is an opportunity to meet the greatest visionaries, the most fascinating speakers and the most interesting figures who, during an 18-minute speech, inflame the public with inspiring talks about their passions, revolutionary discoveries, extraordinary experiences.
TEDxWroclaw will take place on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 in Silver Conference Centre, right opposite Main Train Station. The theme of this year’s conference is: Wonderland. This international meeting with a diverse group of speakers will be held in English.
TEDxWroclaw is going to be a 7-hour event, so please apply only if you are able to attend the whole conference.

Improkracja feat. Jim Williams

Improv Comedy
Improkracja Improv Theatre is one of the pioneer improv groups in Poland. They create performances that are fully improvised, inspired by the suggestions from the audience. Improkracja is known for creating their own forms. The group comprises professional actors, puppeteers, clowns, mimes and comedians. Performing at TEDx are: Anka Wojtkowiak-Williams, Tomasz Marcinko, Mateusz Płocha, and long-time friend and collaborator to Improkracja, American Comedian Jim Williams.

Bartosz Żółtak

Mathematician
Devoted 17 years to analysing a mathematical function (VMPC) that he discovered. He published it at an international scientific conference FSE in 2004 and ever since has been attempting to prove the function's most interesting property - one-wayness. If he were to succeed on that it would solve the famous P vs NP problem. As a side effect he designed a board game Permutu which is based strictly on the function - www.permutu.pl. Bartosz will talk on how out-of-the-box thinking can lead to discovery.

Ewa Niemczura

Astrophysicist
Obtained PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Wrocław. What I do: - Scientific research: investigation of stellar atmospheres and determination of the most important stellar parameters, including their chemical composition; - Teaching: lecturer in Astronomical Institute (main topics: stellar atmospheres, bioastronomy) - Public outreach: astronomy Greatest passion: books, travel, astronomy.

Jacek Witkowski

Food & IT Entrepreneur
For almost three years he lead jointly with Magda www.krytykakulinarna.com project. Food, travel, classic cars and motorcycles are his greatest passions. He’s a graduate of the MBA and for 15 years he has been selling in the area of IT and telecommunications.

Maciek Lulko

Photographer
He’s an architecture and urban photographer, living in Wroclaw and documenting evolution and life of the city. His works were exhibited in Wroclaw Museum of Architecture, Lviv Palace of Culture, Barcelona school of architecture and his internet portfolio was viewed by more than 3 million people around the world. He graduated from University of Wroclaw's Faculty of Law but he didn't see his future in this profession and changed his hobby into full time job.

Magdalena Golachowska

Dietician
Magdalena Golachowska-Poleszczuk, PhD in Medical Sciences. Graduated from UMCG, The Netherlands, where she studied intestine disorders in newborns. Currently vice-Dean of science and development at Medical School in Opole, lecturer and dietician at Psychodietics Institute in Wroclaw. Passionate nutritionist who link modern science with traditional medicine.

Marcin Czub

Virtual Reality Researcher
Principal Investigator in “VR4Health” - a research project on Virtual Reality use in pain alleviation. Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology, University of Wroclaw. Seeking how we can use technology to better understand ourselves. Trail runner aspiring for a distance, not speed.

Handpan player
He is a paramedic working in an ambulance, beginner tattooist and a lifetime skateboarder. He’s been playing on a HandPan for 3 years now.

Matt Burdynowski

Singer & Vocal Coach
Matt Burdynowski is a professional singer, vocal coach, choir leader and arranger. He studied Jazz Voice at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London. He currently teaches harmony and singing to adults at the City Literary Institute, and performs regularly with Rhythms of the City, London's premier street percussion band. He runs an experimental jazz/pop a cappella group called The Few, which combines traditional harmonies with improvisation, beatboxing and unconventional techniques. He is interested in Jungian psychology, mathematics, and songwriting. Through his teaching experience, he became certain that "sense of pitch" and "sense of rhythm" are skills which can be learned by anybody. He is passionate about sharing this message with the world.

Rafał Motriuk

Polish Radio Correspondent
Radio journalist, formerly with the BBC World Service in London, Rafał works as science correspondent for the Polish Radio. Lecturer of journalism, PR and public speaking he shares his experience with younger generations at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Firm believer in Evidence Based Training he occasionally works as communication coach. Wrote two books, one of them being "A Straight Road to Success". When he is not busy feeding his TED addiction Rafał volunteers helping people with autism and multiple sclerosis.
