Bartosz Żółtak
Mathematician
Devoted 17 years to analysing a mathematical function (VMPC) that he discovered. He published it at an international scientific conference FSE in 2004 and ever since has been attempting to prove the function's most interesting property - one-wayness. If he were to succeed on that it would solve the famous P vs NP problem. As a side effect he designed a board game Permutu which is based strictly on the function - www.permutu.pl.
Bartosz will talk on how out-of-the-box thinking can lead to discovery.
