TEDxLUMS is a platform for the innovators, writers, thinkers and some of the most prominent doers of our time. 5 speakers will be invited to share their experiences in a 4 hour affair full of conversation, performances and activities to inspire the crowd.

In keeping with our theme, 'Changing Mindsets/Badal Do Soch', this engaging event hopes to create a community of young, driven individuals who can use their passion and creativity to make an impact on society.

ZeBoys and Hamza Butt

Zeboys got the fame by peroforming a blend of Eastern and Western music,. The band consist of Haider Jamil on doumbek, Tulha Shafqat on guitar and Fareeha Ali Yahya on ukulele. The band also featured Hamza Butt on Violin.

Ali Rez

Ali Rez has won more international recognition than anybody else in the Pakistani advertising industry. His awards include Cannes, London International, Communication Arts, New York Festivals, Spikes, and the prestigious Clio. Ranked amongst the Top 100 Creative Directors in the World by the 2014 Big Won Report, Ali has almost two decades of experience working in three different countries working on global brands such as 7UP, MasterCard, ChevronTexaco, and Adobe, amongst many others.Currently Ali serves as a consulting Creative Director in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.

Assam Khalid

Assam has over a decade of advertising experience for a multitude of brands and is currently working as the Strategic Planning Director at BBDO Pakistan. He is ranked as the #1 Strategic Planning Director in MENA and Pakistan, and the #8 in the World by The Big Won 2014 Report. He is the winner of Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, Communication Arts, London International Awards, Cristals, Dubai Lynx and Red Apple Russia

Fatima Lodhi

Fatima Lodhi is a Development studies student.She has been working for the basic rights, inclusion and social acceptance of women with darker skin complexion.

Iqbal Qaiser

Iqbal Qaiser is a historian, anthropologist, poet, story writer, activist, etc. He also happens to be a prolific writer having adventured in numerous fields. What makes this man really special is his unrelenting commitment to Punjabi. Despite the fact that the readership of Punjabi is negligible, and being aware of the fact that one can’t expect to make a living at all by writing in Punjabi, this man continues to serve Punjabi.

Priya Sajjad

Priya Sajjad is an undergraduate student at LUMS majoring in anthropology and sociology. She is the only Pakistani to pass professional international Kathak exams. She is a Kathak performer and aspires to enhance the image of this dance form and break the negative connotations that people commonly have about dance in Pakistan. She has performed at the International Dance Festival in Islamabad, hosted by the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop and Royal Norwegian Embassy recently.

Sarah Khan

Sarah Khan is a 16 year old from Islamabad who uses film to raise awareness about solutions to issues affecting women and girls in her country. Her film, Harvesting Hope won second prize at a film festival held in Harvard University and was about the health complications women cotton pickers face due to excessive use of chemical pesticides in Pakistan.. She was included in BBCs top 100 women of 2014. She just finished her new film about rural Pakistani women tackling the global water crisis.
