In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adenuga Atewologun

Dr. Atewologun is President of Riverland Community College, with campuses at Albert Lea, Austin, and Owatonna, Minnesota. His research and work are deeply tied to agriculture and engineering.

Austin McCoy

Austin McCoy is 15 years old and a sophomore at Century High School in Rochester, Minnesota. He started working on genetics projects in 5th grade through Mayo Clinic's InSciEd Out Educational Outreach program. Since age 12, Austin has combined his interest in programming, love of math, and endless tinkering to develop a diagnostic medical device that won him the First Place Technology Award at the Broadcom MASTERS National Science Fair. Austin dreams of attending M.I.T. to pursue a career in medicine and engineering.

Catherine Haslag

Catherine holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Missouri State University and has worked as a tutor, mentor, and faculty. She is currently a chemistry faculty at Riverland Community College. Eric Olson

Eric Olson is President/CEO of KSMQ Public Television, the PBS station serving southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. For 20 years he worked in commercial TV as a journalist, producer, writer, and anchor.

Marc Anderson

Percussionist, composer, record producer, educator, Zen priest and spiritual leader, Marc Anderson has toured the world and performed on more than 300 recordings with many notable artists.

Pete Wangen

Pete Wangen is a professional drummer living in Austin, MN. Pete began playing at age 10. At 19, he moved to L.A. where he attended the Percussion Institute of Technology. He has toured the world entertaining at U.S. and NATO bases, and spent 10 years in the Pacific Northwest playing with many bands.
