Heartbeat, to be simple, is defined as a kind of physiological activity done by cooperation of pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein. The sound of heartbeat express the vibration of life. The circulation of blood accompanies the extinction of antiquated things and the emergences of new prevalence. During this kind of metabolism, nature performed the most moving and euphonious melody. This is the musical chapter of life. Whatever we are confronted with, wherever we are, there is always an optimistic life with fortitude. Then, why we have heartbeat? Is it because of the Yue People’s love while encountering the prince thousands years ago? Is it a result of the harrowing moment waiting for the afterlife of green flower porcelain? Or is it owing to the gratitude for the inculcation before departure?

The reason that we select Heartbeat as our motif is that with the rapid influx of innovations and the development of society, we are indulged in the diversity, wondering what induces heartbeat? Euphonious stanza, mellifluous melody, elaborate artifact, or intricate machine, unprecedented experiment, convenient internet? Nowadays, we are living in a highly-civilized society, enjoying the sediment of human’s intelligence over the past thousand years. Gotten accustomed to advanced technology and comforts, are we bound to be moved by trivial things as our antecedents used to be? The sunlight’s penetrating the sky and shining the ground, the grass’s absorbing nutrients for growing in the crevasse of rocks, the antelopes’ striving for escaping from predators…… Over the past thousand years, they are still as what they used to be. Nevertheless, do we, human beings, still maintain our original heartbeats together with original veneration and gratitude for life from the bottom of our hearts? With the development of our century, and with our amazed by the prosperity and civilization, we shouldn’t forget the innocence and purity in the past.

TEDxYouth@ZZFLS
TEDxYouth@ZZFLS will invite 6 speakers, who are thinkers and doers in various fields, to share their ideas and stories with approximately 100 audience, together discussing the wonders that heartbeat has brought us, and imagining the heartbeats that we are about to create.

Session 1:

[SESSION 1: THE LIFE]
Life brings nature vigor: in the Death Valley National Park of America, a beautiful Adenium flowers on arid lands. Life brings mankind strength: in the tough era, feeble mothers carry on farm tools for their starving babies. Life brings society progress: in the fierce competition, companies keep innovating to seize the chance of survival. For us, we are alive as long as we feel we are alive. Life may be the desire or the belief. It survives, in a promise or a pride.

Session 2:

[SESSION 2: THE MOMENT]
One heart beats about one hundred thousand times per day. Simple as an action may seem, it constructs the full time of life. With every dilation and contraction, the transient is the perpetual. When we wake up in the morning, lay our hands against chest and feel the beat of our hearts, we should be grateful that it never forsakes this simple movement. We gain our courage and strength from things we never notice, a quiet smile or a warm talk. They are trivial, or perhaps they are fleeting. But please consider again, whether they still strike you, as a heart attack?
