Theme: Crossing Borders

Selkirk College, located in a rural community, is welcoming more and more international students each year. Crossing Borders is about bringing awareness of cultural diversity in hopes of creating an inclusive community. The four speakers inspired cultural curiosity in hopes of sparking reflection on assumptions, stereotypes, and cross-cultural communication. They shared their personal experiences and stories about cultural and language diversity and discussed how they overcome barriers throughout their life journeys.
