In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brien R. Sorne

Brien R. Sorne is Vice President of Sales and Development and Chief Creative Officer for the ALCOM Corporation. ALCOM is a marketing company comprised of nine divisions providing services for nearly 300 clients locally and across the country. These include web development, SEO and analytics, comprehensive marketing management and consultation, audio and video production, ad design, and media buying. Brien is a writer, educator, and the host of a local radio show "Tallahassee Talks with Brien Sorne". He and his wife have been married 33 years and have 4 adult children.

Genevieve Brackins

Dr. Genevieve Brackins is a professor of Women's Studies at Florida State University, where she has also taught Humanities and Geography. She is the founder of the conference Breaking Out of the Box: Re-Defining Masculinity, co-sponsored by the National Organization of Men Against Sexism. Dr. Brackins' body of research has been presented at the Centre for Gender Research at Uppsala University in Sweden, the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies in Finland, the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, the Nordic Network on Gender, Body, and Health in Reykjavik, Iceland, Carthage University in Tunisia, and many other locations. When not at the office, she can be found teaching and practicing yoga.

Gregg Steinberg

Dr. Gregg Steinberg is a professor of human performance at Austin Peay State University, near Nashville, TN. Golf Digest has ranked him as one of the world's greatest mental game experts. Dr. Steinberg consults with many business executives and professional athletes on their mental game. He is the author of the Washington Post bestselling business book, Full Throttle. Dr. Steinberg writes the column, The Head Coach, for the Tennessean. He lives in Nashville with his wife Tommie, their son, Myles, and their Italian Greyhound, Fabio.

John Breed

John Breed is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence and Assistant Lecturer at FSU’s College of Business. He lectures on the subjects of start-ups, business management, e-commerce and mobile technology. John’s career has spanned over 20 years to include successful stints as a boot-strapping entrepreneur, c-suite executive, and a management consultant that primarily focused on change management as well as major IT implementations. He has been involved in several start-ups and was a co-owner of leading gift and stationery design firm.

Larry Weru

Larry leads an interdisciplinary life. He is concerned with the nature of reality, and what it means to be a human being. He is the founder of LobbyQ, a web-app that streamlines visitor management. He likes to keep things simple.

Mary Kay Keller

Mary Kay Keller is an author, advisor, educator, field researcher and speaker. She has worked in public service for the prevention of child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health as an administrator, project director and an executive director for over 20 years. Mary Kay earned a Doctorate in Human Sciences from Florida State University, a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Utah and undergraduate degrees from Weber State University, all with honors. Mary Kay teaches educational classes online and provides advising services on the topics of: career and education development, dating and family relationships, and parenting.

Max Haney

Max was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL and is 31 years young. He works in south Florida as a Commercial Broker for Bouchard Insurance. Max was lucky enough to win the 2014 Rookie of the Year award. He received a B.S. at Florida State University in Political Science in 2012. Max will take on the role as President for the SWFL FSU Boosters Club, effective in June 2015. He is an active member of the City of Fort Myers Nuisance and Abatement Board.

Nate Dallas

Dr. Nate Dallas is a dentist, a product developer/designer, a lifelong entrepreneur, and a father of four boys. He enjoys a busy schedule and being involved in a few "too many" projects. He is a homeschool teacher and an owner of a diverse portfolio of unrelated businesses and products. Dr. Nate loves sharing crowdsourced knowledge and experience, craves creative callaboration, and enjoys storytelling.
