Our October Salon presents multi-disciplinary perspectives on the theme "Movement in Space". We will explore what "space" means from literal outer space to concepts of sacred space, and how we move within those concepts of space.

Nannette Robinson and Zuzi! Dancers

Nannette Robinson and Zuzi! Dancers: Cynthia Barthole, Lucy Cotten, Raine Ugstad, Monique Kelley, Piper Gelb, Maria Sara Villa, Debbie Urken, Sabrina Geoffrion, Sky Dominguez, Clair McGibeny, Carie Schneider, Kelia Gallagher, Maddie Brown. Nanette is a choreographer, educator and dancer in ZUZI! She is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director, holds a BFA in Dance from Temple University, and is an introductory and ongoing certified instructor of Skinner Releasing. She has travelled internationally teaching and performing and has extensive experience as an aerial dancer and teacher. The soundscape was create by Glen Weyant.

Jennifer Longdon

Jennifer Longdon is a full-time wheeler, living her life at butt-level, which may or may not contribute to her general snarky nature. Jen is a Phoenix-based speaker, writer and activist who contributes to policy decisions by serving on the State Independent Living Council of Arizona and Arizonans for Gun Safety and acting as Public Impact Advisor to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. She has been profiled in the Phoenix New Times, Mother Jones, Salon and Rolling Stone. Paralyzed in a random shooting in 2004, Jennifer is an outspoken advocate for people with disabilities and strengthening laws to curb gun violence.

Marcia Rieke

Melanie Cooley is Volunteer Coordinator for the All Souls Procession that attracts 100,000 people to walk, in procession, to honor their dead loved ones. She is also a member of the Many Mouths One Stomach board that funds the procession. For six years, she has been part of the community group that escorts the Urn which leads the procession through the streets of Tucson, receiving prayers, messages, and remembrances from the thousands of people who line the streets during the Procession.

Melanie Cooley
