In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Maiju

Maiju is from Chiba. She started practicing calligraphy from age 6 and when she was 17 years old, she got her licence in this art. Whilst going to university, she began acting on stage where she experimented with calligraphy. In July 2010, she began experiencing symptoms of fibromyalgia syndrome(FMS) which causes intolerable pain throughout the body. At the time, she couldn’t walk at all, but with continuous treatments and determination, she could slowly regain her movement allowing her to even eventually dance. Although she continues to live with this condition, with medication she is able to live a normal life. She now challenges herself and impresses audiences with her calligraphy.

Casey Wahl

Casey Wahl leads Wahl & Case as Founder and CEO, with an exacting emphasis on the service and experience delivered candidates and clients. He relentlessly looks to innovate recruitment and seeks growth opportunities both locally and globally, giving a platform for the world-class team that the company attracts to challenge, develop, and succeed. Casey is a long-term resident of Japan with fluent Japanese and also has an Executive MBA from IE Business School. Casey is also the founder and CEO of Red Brick Ventures an angel investment and incubation platform in Tokyo. Casey recently published the no. 1 best-selling book “Insights in to the Japanese Entrepreneurial Mind” (「未来をつくる起業家」).

Chris Sasaki

He loves basketball from the bottom of the heart and learned life through the basketball. He won the Intercollegiate when he was a university student. Since 2012, he belonged to be League Chiba Jets, and in next year he belonged to same league, Tokyo-Cinqreves, but retired in 2013. During his career as a basketball player, he was in charge of the simultaneous interpretation and final reporter at NBA. He started working commentary as a NBA analyst from 13-14 season. As a musician, he devoted to hip hop when he was a university student and from that we can see his background of growth diversity. Basketball is not only sideline but also active in various fields for him.

Kenji Yamamura

Born in 1974. After graduation from college and working at a stock and bound house, he started wedding gift company with his friends. Then they participated to management Biotechnology Company in China. In 2010, Visited USA. He took double master of MBA and Finance at HULT International Business School. During in USA, he inspired from vast scenery there. Because of that, he started the service “Pashadelic” which is capable of sharing a photographing location which important thing in photograph of the landscape.

Micah Foster

Micah was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina, USA. From a young age he desired to make his mark on the world in one way or another. Upon graduating High School he enrolled at North Carolina State University to study Finance and International Business, specializing in the Pacific Rim, Japan in particular. Japan interested him so much so in fact, that he studied a semester at Sophia University. After graduating Micah spent a year and a half studying one of his passions, Christian Theology, at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. After this time, Micah had an opportunity to work for Credit Suisse, Switzerland’s second largest investment bank, as a Swaps Settlements Analyst. After working for two years he decided to leave a promising career behind in order to pursue his passion in helping other’s around the world.

Rego Ikeda

Born in 1977. He became aware of drama, and called out to make a schoolchildren theatrical group. He did first theater acting as a novelist as a director, and also as an actor. He spent everyday doing theater acting in his school days. He set up theatrical company while he studied drama in the university. He wrote more than 100 scripts, performed more than 500 stages, arranged more than 1000 actors, and keeps to devote hisself to his studies. When he was 23 years old, he advocated “演劇即日常”. He used it in daily life. He find out ” dramatic thinking” and “dramatic skill” can be useful. He set up “IKEDA REGO GARAGE”, and sponsors workshop which cultivate imagination power and bring out hidden attraction in people.

Riki Ikushima

Born in 1997 and raised in Yokohama. He attended to local public elementary school and junior high school. He entered Aoyama Gakuin High school in 2012. In 2015 he entered Aoyama Gakuin University – Department of School of International Politics, Economics & Communications. In 2015, he won speaker contest for Aoyama Gakuin University students, and entered TEDxAGU.

Ryohei Hayase

He is from Hiroshima. When he was a child, he stayed America for a year. While he was junior and high school student, he was a member of the lower branch from Sanfrecce Hiroshima, which is one of the Japanese soccer teams. When he was third grade of high school, he made up his mind to be a professional soccer player. After being a student of Aoyama Gakuin University, he became a member of the official soccer team of the university. And he started coaching when he was first grade of the university. In addition, he worked at Yingly Green Energy Japan stock company as a internship program for 10 months. He also participated in National Blind Soccer championship. After the graduation, he became a coach of not only Aoyama Gakuin but also many other soccer teams. Moreover he began HAYASE SOCCER SCHOOL at Tamachi, Tokyo.

Taichi Huruhashi

He is one of the professors from School of Global Studies and Collaboration. Also he is a CEO of MAP concierge and a director of Open Street Map Foundation Japan. He graduated from Tokyo University and took the degree of master of environment studies. These days, he puts the focus on making world map at Open Street Map by using GPS, panorama devices and drones.

Yusuke Mitsumoto

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, in1980. He grew up in Denmark and Britain for 18years from childhood. After the graduation of TASIS England, he came back to Japan and attended Aoyamagakuin University, International Politics, Economics, and Communication. He later began working for a foreign advertisement agency, Ogilvy & Mather Japan. From his faith of “conceiving a new market”, in October, 2008, established Braket, a private company, that plan, develop, and manage new business using Internet. He now takes office as CEO. Right now, he expands “STORES.jp”, a service that anyone can open online store at least in 2 minutes. “STORES.jp” holds more than 30 thousand stores https://stores.jp/
