Join us for our next live event on Thursday, April 7th with this years’ worth considering theme: RECONSIDER THIS!
For the event, we have handpicked a group of inquisitive individuals who dare to ask the bold questions and flip the world as we know it upside-down. TEDxCopenhagen offers a perfect setting to everyone who does not take everything for granted and like to break away from the given of society.

Our selected speakers aim is to challenge the audience to reconsider things what is given in our life and have the common preconceptions about it.

Strategic Futurist and Designer
Angela Oguntala works across design and futures studies. She thinks about alternative futures and creates plans for how to reach those desired futures.

Jesper Koefoed-Melson

Urban Designer and CEO of GivRum
Jesper Koefoed-Melson is a Partner and CEO of GivRum, a non-profit working to make our cities more democratic and engage more people in urban development. GivRum is a professional organisation working primarily for cities that want to involve a diverse interest group in cultural and social development of areas.

Lis Zacho

Teacher and Volunteer for Coding Pirates
Lis Zacho is a maths teacher, maths supervisor and a student of IT didactic design at Aarhus University. While doing some research projects on children’s learning and digital solutions, she volunteers for Coding Pirates, an association that exists in different cities around Denmark to promote children’s creative IT skills. Besides this, she recently co-founded Kreakode, a project for teaching coding in schools.

Mads Nygaard

Writer and Co-founder of Venligboerne
Mads Nygaard is a writer, curious by nature. He worked for an asylum centre in Hjørring, where, along with 8 others, he co-founded the Venligboerne movement.

Meik Wiking

Happiness Researcher
Meik Wiking is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute, an independent think tank exploring why some societies are happier than others. He has recently published the book Lykken under lup – en opdagelsesrejse i lykkeforskningens verden (Happiness under the magnifying glass: a journey into the world of happiness research). With a background in political science and business, Meik has previously worked on sustainability for the think tank Mandag Morgen.

Nanna Roos

Researcher in Nutrition
Nanna Roos is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen within the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports (NEXS). An expert in pediatric and international nutrition, she has, for many years, conducted research on improving nutrition in developing countries. One of her projects, GREEiNSECT, contributes to researching capacity building in Kenya by supporting PhD studies in the fields of insect production, food product development and economy.

Niels Lan Doky

Composer and Producer
Niels Lan Doky is a jazz pianist, composer, producer, movie director, lecturer and writer. He has written the book Improvisation – I musikken, på arbejdet og i livet (Improvisation – In music, work and life) and is also co-founder & music director of the jazz club, The Standard.

Ole Bjerg

Researcher in Money and Capitalism, Sociologist, Associate Professor
Ole Bjerg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at Copenhagen Business School. After his book, Making Money – The Philosophy of Post-Credit Capitalism, Ole published Parallax of Growth – The Philosophy of Ecology and Economy. He also co-founded Gode Penge, an initiative for the democratization of the monetary system.

Simon Jul Jørgensen

Radio Host, Partner at Spis Min Gris, Conscious Butcher
Simon Jul Jørgensen is a radio host and partner at Spis Min Gris, perhaps best known from the series Banjo’s Liqueur Room, Mørk & Jul and The Red Chapel. He owns farm at Djursland, where he works with Frank Erichsen (DR’s Bonderøven – back-to-basics farmer), spreading knowledge about organic food and being self-sufficient.

Thomas Jam Pedersen

Engineer, Curious Mind and Thorium Energy Specialist
Thomas Jam Pedersen is an engineer, who has extensive experience in software and simulations. With a group of chemical engineers and physicists, he co-founded the startup Copenhagen Atomics. He also writes a blog about thorium energy on the website Ingeniøren.
