This event is about the message the Senior Class of Challenge Early College High School has to spread to the world. As a part of a larger G/T Independent Study class, students study an area of their choosing for the entirety of their senior year and the results are what you will see on our TEDx stage.

Aashi Shah

Aashi is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Aashi looks at the balance between artistic skill and business acumen.

Adriana Castro

Adriana is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Adriana discovered how a culture from the other side of the world could significantly impact a person's appreciation for their native culture.

Anna Vite

Anna is a senior at Challenge Early College High School in Houston, TX. She is planning to attend Texas State University in the Fall and her work focused on understanding the affliction of Social Anxiety Disorder from both a scientific point of view as well as her personal experience with it.

Brooke Schapiro

Brooke is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Brooke studied the issue of gluten intolerance since, in different but equally detrimental ways it directly affects all members of her immediate family, her included.

Christopher Benitez

Christopher is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Christopher wanted to know if at age 18 whether or not "play" could still be a part of his life - he found his answer.

Cindy Zelaya

Cindy is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Cindy's research intended to discover whether learning to care about children outside of her family would have an impact on how she shows love to those within her family.

Daniela Olvera

Daniela is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Texas - San Antonio in the Fall. Daniela examines how the art of craftsmanship through analysis of her mother's daily routine symbolically shows the design her mother followed with raising her.

Douglas Bednorz

Douglas is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending Texas Tech University in the Fall. Douglas looked at the world of illegal game downloads through the lens of his shifting perspective about whether or not it was "wrong" all while knowing it was illegal.

Erika Hernando

Erika is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Texas - Dallas in the Fall. Erika's work focused on understanding the impact that a single voice can have to counteract human trafficking in the Houston area - even if that voice is of a high school senior.

Gabriella Wannall

Gabriella is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Texas - Permian Basin in the Fall. Gabriella discovered how unexpected learning can turn into a life-long passion.

Sandra Torres

Sandra is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending Bryn Mawr College in the Fall. Sandra examined fashion sense for women in previous generations to answer whether or not a modern teenager can find her style preferences in the clothing of generations before her own time.

Shaylah Cooper

Shaylah is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending Howard University in the Fall. Shaylah sought to find what role graffiti art can play as a cultural and societal norm.

Sheida Carugati

Sheida is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending the University of Houston in the Fall. Sheida's journey of self discovery led her from preparing herself mentally for Alzheimer's Disease to understanding how she processes tragedy.

Victoria Gonzalez

Victoria is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending St. Mary's University in the Fall. Victoria looks at possible motives beyond laziness for procrastination in high school students.

Zoe Ortiz

Zoe is a senior at Challenge Early College High School and will be attending Harvard University in the Fall. Zoe, through practice and explanation - shows the power of spoken word poetry in finding one's voice.
